I signed up for Verified by Visa some time ago and have used the system when buying online from sites that support it. I recently purchased some items online and during the checkout process I was asked to "sign up" for the Verified by Visa system even though I was registered already.

At this stage I was presented with a box into which I could enter my new password. No mention of entering the old one first just enter something here and continue. So I entered a new password to see what would happen. The transaction was accepted and when I went to the Verified by Visa site to check my password sure enough it had been changed.

Can someone tell me what is the point in signing up for this sytem if passwords can be changed at an online store without first entering the old password. Anyone else had this experience?

Can you disclose the name and country of the card issuer bank?

I've had the same thing happen to me a few times when using my 2nd credit card, issued by TD Bank - Canada.

I don't mind having to change the password from time to time or when the card is renewed. What worries me is that I could change the password whilst making a purchase and was not asked for the old password. If you can do this what is the point of having a password in the first place?

This is an issue that exclusively related to your bank. You need to contact your issuing bank in regards to this issue and tell them exactly what happened.

I am starting to loose sales. My 3rd party payment processor is using Verified by Visa stuff and I am loosing sales. Even the payment module in oscommerce stopped working because of this.

Who do you use for your third party processor?

I just went to your site and you don't even accept credit cards on the site. You support money orders, wire transfer, cash, and western union.

Are you using another site for your CC transactions?

Thanks for visiting the site cardinal. As you can see I was using spacecoin, but I disable it to install it again with new gateway version. For now I dont have cc option on my site. Looking for one right now.
