Hello

I am looking for a new host. I a currently hosted by hostgator and I need someplace that is more reliable. My sites have been done several times this month.

Do you know of a more reliable hosting company?

Thanks

My sites have been down several times this month. That is why I feel they have been unreliable.

Did you at least try to email their support to work out the issues?

Try liquidweb.com, their support is excellent and replies are too fast.

Hello,

123TFL did you open a ticket with us? A site can be down up to 45 minutes a month and still reach our 99.9% uptime guarantee.

juanitobonito please provide your ticket number with us.

Also our site which doesn't affect any of our customers has just became under a ddos attack which we are working on blocking.

From what WN-Ali said, I have made the mistake of communicating mostly through live-chat. I have brought up the problem two times this week via live-chat.

Thats why you should always open a support ticket, live chat is more for common questions etc.
I have resolved more problems with hostgator by the support ticket and calling them on the phone. Thank you WN-Ali, I honestly thought live chat would provide the same customer service.

The issues that I have will probally occur with most resellers. I have decided to stay, for now, and find a VPS host in the future.

HostGator has always been pretty reliable so your problems seem strange. Would you care to give a more indepth analysis of what actually has happened.

As far as finding another host, there are several reliable resources you can use at your own disposal.

http://www.hostsearch.com/

The offers section on WHT

http://www.webhostingstuff.com/

HostVoice.com

etc etc. Also, browse through the board and find some hosts that have been getting good reviews. This may help you :-)

I have been using both Godaddy + Hostgator shared host for1 month now, and HostGator has been the best of two: fast, reliable, cpanel, crontab, all I need. The bad thing is that I have my main site on Godaddy already, if I move it to HostGator then I have to wait a 1-2days for the domain re-directing (or is there any other way ?)
Sigh.
Anyway, Godaddy should be used for image and other unimportant stuffs only ....

I am having the same problem, downtimes, high loads, and is getting whorst every day..

I am sad because, they have great supprort and in the last one year i am in Hostgator i had nothing to say, maybe the server was empty in that period or its just bad luck..

Now i am facing the same dilema. Change to another reseller and no waranties that it wont be the same (or worst), i just can affoard a dedicated or vps for now..

Nevermind I was able to find your account. Your server isn't having any problems other then the person that was suspended a few minutes before you posted this. They were the cause of the reboots for today and now that they have been suspended the problem has been solved.

They had a .php script that would take the server down in minutes after it began running.

Other than today's problem with this site your box has had great loads, and been very stable.

I am glad all its back to normal.

It was all solved in about an hour, i'm sure the average resseling companies dont have this kind of support.

One question (off topic) but i think all the readers od this post will find it useful and me too.. :
Supose one of my resseler clients have a problem with a script, a atack, a spam related question, etc, and you must suspend the account for the sake of the server. What is the procedure? you just simply suspend this account or you notify the reseller? having the resseler the responsability for their clients it is possible to suspend the resseler account for bad usage in one of his clients?

Thanks, keep up the good work

Every situation is different.....

Usually we disable just the script and email the reseller. In this situation we suspended the site since within seconds after a reboot the server needed another reboot. We can't play around on something like this and you posting is a perfect example of how serious any downtime is.

In this particular case I'm also calling to see If I can reach the reseller to explain the situation.

If you have any more questions please let me know.
