May I ask why it was created for Avity? I have designed their site which will be up shortly.

I was just thinking of a short name to use and that came to my mind, no it will not replace your design you designed for avity.com It's just an example. Tim gave me permission to use his name on my template.

geiger

Okay. No, I wasn't worried about it replacing mine, haha. I just wanted to let him know if he didn't know about it.

WOW! Really neat and professional looking work, I must say! Kudos!

Great work with the template.

One thing to be aware of is the edging of the black telephone against the blue background in the footer :)

good template! bid sent!

I'd just like to say that is the most drop-dead-gorgeous, professional-looking template I've ever seen. I'd bid on it, but somewhere over $150 even before the (I'm sure substantial) cost of the stock imagery is a bit past what I would be willing to be for a template at this point in my business's lifetime. However, it is more than worth it, and once more, kudos to you for such a great job!

Nate is the only who has bid on the template at $150.00

I sometimes find it quite ironic!

When there are designs shown in other threads not even half as good as the Avity one shown here, they find buyers willing to pay anywhere around $100. But Avity.com is twice as good and worth twice as much as the current bid but doesn't find so many takers!

Beats me! The phrase "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder" is so true!

Speaking as a fellow web designer, if I had done work similar in professionalism and quality of finish as on the Avity.com design shown here, i would have charged at least $400 dollars or more for such a template!

Overskilled. maybe its the weekend and that is why there aren't too many takers at the moment. I'd suggest you wait till tuesday or wednesday before you end your offer. Hopefully more people will see your template on these days and increase the bidding.

Just dont give up so soon.

I know i'm charging way to low, i'm only 15 and it's hard to find buyers and I kind of need the money now. That's the reason why I sell it for so cheap. I did put somewhat of a reserve price on it though.

i have sent my bid ... when is this auction over?

OverSkilled

There is actually no set date, it's really when we feel that it has a good bid on it. I really wish this thread went backup to the new posts so other people can look at it and bid on it.

geiger
05-27-2002, 03:03 PM
Yeah. I think it's very stupid how they do it. I, personally, don't like the admin of WHT. They make no sense!

The purpose of thread bumps is if a thread is important, more people can see it. Now why keep it from bumping?

MCHost-Marc

I'm ready to place a bid on it if it includes .PSD files. :)

well... if you are getting numorous bids, then i think it is only fair that it be public... that way we can figure out if we need to bid again... i was the first bidder on this still have no clue where i stand! please advise as to the highest bid at this point.

Hi!

I just want to say what I feel about certain deadline for bidding.
I do believe that if it is a bidding/auction for a template or anything, there has to be a deadline. The bidding will start with a starting bid, while the person conducting the bid set a reserve price. There is also a fixed increment on the bid. If there is no deadline, then the bidders will become anxious. Also, I feel that when somebody bids he/she should not back out.

Well, my opinion only. It is up for you to consider it.

Thanks.

:)

Deadline: May 31, 2002 Midnight.

geiger
05-28-2002, 03:11 PM
Overskilled, if you don't want a deadline you don't have to make one. It's your template to do whatever you want with it.

If you don't want a deadline, just tell people to make an offer if they want it instead of having an "auction". That's it.

Top bid is by Alareach with $200.00

Alareach emailed me at 9:30am this thursday morning with a bid of $200.00

Nate emailed me at 10:26am this thursday morning with a bid of $200.00, Sorry nate, Alareach bid first.

Taking too long with new deadlines all the time, retracting bid.

geiger
06-01-2002, 12:06 AM
lol. Overskilled for everyone's benefit I'd like to propose an amendment.

In incriments of $25 the interested parties may continue bidding. No reason to close off if you can get more money and they can get what they want ;)

Okay with you?

Being that it's very late at night, and my power just went out, i'll push the auction deadline to June 1st, 8pm eastern. We will give the other people a chance to bid on it to see the new updates.

Also, bidding incriments of $30.00 please

nate
06-01-2002, 04:24 PM
how much is the top bid... who is winning... when will it FINALLY END?

i figured i won based upon the previous guidelines set forth... but since we are all getting the run around, i have no clue what is going on. please advise for all of our sakes!

geiger
06-01-2002, 04:40 PM
Since there are still intersted buyers, he extended the deadline until 8pm today.

Starting at $270 you can now bid in increments of $30.

nate
06-01-2002, 06:20 PM
i am tired of messing around with this.

my bid is 330.00 --> if anyone wants to beat it then post it here. hopefully this bid does it and lasts for the next 1 hour and 40 minutes!

geiger
06-01-2002, 06:21 PM
Yes, these things can get a bit tiring. It's just in these informal options if there's still people who want to bid it's a little rude to just cut them off.

vibehosts
06-01-2002, 06:24 PM
Geiger get a clue!!, You cannot conduct business like this, its been over a week. People have seen this and the few bids have been placed everyone has seen it in the weeks time.

nate
06-01-2002, 06:24 PM
well.... for those of us who actually have companies to run and not tons of spare time following threads like this... we would rather just pay and get it over with! and it is hardly cutting anyone off when there is a posted time to end this thing.

geiger
06-01-2002, 06:26 PM
vibehosts, I am not the one who is conducting this auction. I'm merely an interested member here at the forums. Don't get mad at me!

nate
06-01-2002, 06:26 PM
vibehost: agreed... but it is not even geiger's auction, that is the funny thing!

i hope this actually ends this time... an hour and a half to go

*fingers crossed*

geiger

i am not sure what is so unbelievable about bidding on a template that i feel is exceptional and that i want to use. it is not over-priced at all, rather a good price once i get the mods done to it.

geiger

Great going! $400 is a nice bid! Nate and Kiwi were smart to bid for this nice looking template! Everyone's happy! Great! Worth every cent spent in my personal opinion.
