View Full Version : What is everybody's SECOND CHOICE?

It seems clear that everybody on this board likes RackSpace.com. I like what I hear about their support and quality, but I want more bandwidth. So if Rackspace is number one, what is everyone's second choice? Hopefully the second choice is one with more bandwith and also has great support.
Is there a consensus on the second choice behind RackSpace?
Thanks,
Bradley

My second choice would be my old Pentium 100 hooked up to my ISDN line at home.

< Second choice? I'm having enough trouble making up my mind as to my first choice. I guess some guys can make decisions better than others. >

I see where you're going with this and I've been trying to figure out the very same thing. Rackspace would be perfect for my future needs if the bandwidth allocations were just a tad more generous.

WebReseller.net (http://www.webreseller.net/) seems to be pretty hot on this board lately and I've been looking at them for while but I'm still not in the market for a dedicated box just yet, a VDS is doing the job just fine for now.

Myles at www.prioritycolocation.com has not only been excellent in support and client relations, his datacenter also has one of the fastest backbones we have ever used.

Their current bandwidth provider is Cogent, which we learned most of the negative hype about was completely untrue.

Our senior tech experienced the fastest speeds using ssh to servers at other locations than he had ever seen or seen since.

Prioritycolocation is also adding new bandwidth from multiple carriers within the month to add multihomed redundancy to the already speeedy Cogent connection.

Good machines, good service.

Probably there is no consensus, not even on RackSpace, but I recommend www.venturesonline.com

bradley,

Did you check out Dialtone.com?

Venturesonline is currently not taking any new server orders until June 1st.

chatcircuit,

What providers are prioritycolocation.com adding?

Had no trouble at all with Tranxactglobal.com...support I got was excellent, and no other trouble at all since.

Cheers,
Byron
