Well, i am looking for a cheap server that will allow me to run an ircd from it.
i was planning on using my current server (provided by 4webspace.com) but they ask for a $500 deposit before hand.

So im after a cheap server with bandwidth that could handle 300+ users on the ircd and no deposit required.
The server would be used purely for the ircd, no personal storage or anything else.

Please help if you can with recommendations + offers.

I have not tried their IRC service but from their description it does what you want but it is a shared hosting platform and the prices are a lot more realistic. $500 can definitely give you many years of hosting.

ps. im not after a kind of network thing where there are multiple servers for users to connect from.
i am after an empty server, dedicated to one or 2 channels really.
