This is my first experience with website hosting...I'm a photographer and needed to set up a site to direct clients to view my work and get information. I went with HostOnce b/c they were recommended by someone else. The experience with them has been a nightmare. There is NO customer support. They "say" they respond to all emails w/in 24 hours but I've never had a response yet. I want to change to another service but am terrified to have to go through this same frustration all over again. I have had problem after problem with Hostonce with extremely poor customer service too.

Can anyone suggest a good host company for me. My needs are small. I really just need a place to put my images and a few detail pages, and one email account. Customer service/support is really important to me after this bad experience with HostOnce.

hostonce trap, they named it that cause no one renews with them they only host once.

Major tip if it seems too cheap or to good to be true it is. Next tip if is says unlimited band width or storage forget it, there is no such thing and that is pure marketing lies.

Search the threads here, this question gets asked allot around here.

Sorry to hear about your problem. I have been with some scary web hosts too.

In any case, here are some you could try :-

There are many more others and some of their owners do visit this forum quite a bit.

Tell you what, usually what I would do is to write to the sales department of the hosters, ask a few questions and guage their response. The first thing is that if they are not interested in pre-sales inquiries, it is hard to see that they are interested in support when you sign up.

for small needs, very few people, can beat the quality of your-site.com .
they had mail server problems last month that made a few people, including myself, very upset! a new server is up now so service is back to a very respectable level.
they have a live person on the phone for tech support.
Also, I can't remember my site being down once!

There are companies with awesome customer service....you just need to find out which ones they are and make the switch. I hate hearing people having bad experiences with hosting companies and being completely turned off the internet. Just do a search in here before you sign up with any company and you should find a good place to keep your website.....
