phpMyAdmin is used to be a server side MySQL admin program.

This client side MySQL GUI - Navicat claims it supports HTTP tunnel and can connect to remote MySQL as easy as phpMyAdmin and offers extensive Import/ Export capabilities.

I am new to MySQL, anyone has tried this?

great for importing/exporting into/out of variious file formats, manual editing, running queries.

Horrible with backups.

I mainly use it for exporting a table out of one db, making changes in excel or merging in excel with another table, then importing it back in.
