Hello,
I am thinking to prepare a desktop CRM software for web hosting industry. I am quite interest to know what features will you be expected from the softwares.
I would be much appreciated if you could let me know what features must be included in the software.

If you have to ask then you don't know what your doing. One thing you learn when creating software is that users don't know what they want. The only way to bring something innovative is to come up with a cool idea and show it to them, then you will get feedback.

Just start off, make an auto updater, and then take ideas, and let it update automaticly.

It should be able to show the i.p from which the customer is coming.

Several things a CRM should include:
* A support center for customers to post tickets, and a place for staff to be able to answer them.
* A place to store customer data, such as name, address, telephone, credit card data.
* A place for other employees to access internal resources.
Consider this a bump, as this is a pretty good idea. I'm sure it's been done before, but there's definitely room for improvement.
If you made a product such as this, what I would require from it would be:
* Ability to update newsfeeds and customer announcements, mass e-mail.
* Ability to integrate with different control panels (DirectAdmin,cPanel,Plesk) and add/remove/suspend/edit users.
* Direct access to customer records with a handy-dandy search feature (for those of us that have large clientbases).
* Ability to quickly mow through SQL Databases, and export backups.
* Ability to FTP/SSH (If need be, pass options to PuTTy)
* Ability to change passwords of clients on the fly.

Tip: Don't store credit card data unless you know the in's and out's of encryption architecture
