No offense meant, but why would you want something as amateurish as a "hit counter" on your site? Do you not have access to your log files?

You could do a search for Hit Counter on google and you will find many free hit counters. Or you could program one your self.

i agree with stapel, just look at ur logs.

Depends, is it a free host? Some free hosts do not have counters, and some of your writing suggests you do not have much web development experience, which brings me to the question if you're on a free host. When I started out I went with a free host, and back then I used eXtreme tracker. It is free and very reliable. Shows all kinds of statistics so it's easy to monitor your traffic.
