Is it just me, or is there a problem with Namecheap. Their site doesn't come up.

Yeh it was down for me also. Just when I was about to register a name to! I've seen this happen before in the early morning hours a few times. It's usually back up by dawn. Probably doing updates on the site or something.

yeah me also. Error message said the server was too busy.

Well, it's a couple hours later and they're still down. First my dedicated server provider goes under, and now my registrar? Man, have I got the golden touch!

Well, four hours later and they're up now. Hmm.

Yup. Luckily the domain I wanted was still available. Whew. It was much better than the one I was working with already. :)

Glad you got your domain. It can really be frustrating when you come up with a killer name, and then when you go to buy it the site's down. I guess if you're really afraid you'll lose it, you can use a different registrar. I use Namecheap and DirectNIC, so I always have a backup (DirectNIC costs a little more, but they're really great).

This time at least I wasn't buying, I just wanted to take a look at my domains - nothing urgent.

I ALMOST went with Enom once for a .US name when I found a really good name and it was down for that 12 hr period. I've got a back up that I used to use that is $12, but it's usually still available since I choose very specialized names sometimes.
