Majid 05-24-2002, 02:07 AM Can anyone compare unlimited-domain-name resellers hosting packages from MCHost, Imhosted and Alwayswebhosting from view points of features and support, and suggest one? Thanks Sina 05-24-2002, 02:15 AM MCHOST has a good reputation and I believe their TEAM is quite reliable. acidHL 05-24-2002, 07:31 AM I very much aggree with Sina (I am a customer) Change 05-24-2002, 09:05 AM Out of those three I would personally choose McHost. I don't have much experience with AWH, although I know Ronnie is a nice guy and they get good reviews. I think they only recently started offering reseller options, so a bit difficult to get a good opinion for that service. Regarding ImHosted, I chose them a few months ago and left in my trial period because of non-existent support. A while later they apologized and offered me free hosting for life. I took them up on the offer and am test-hosting a less important site with them now. The speed (HTTP, FTP & wget on SSH) is amazing, but I haven't been able to test their 'renewed' support yet. I definitely like their design and the Hostman XP Control Panel package. What I don't like is their hidden fees, make sure to read the complete TOS - and for resellers they ask extra money for support. McHost is pretty big and mostly gets recommended, although they have their share of problems just like any host seems to have. They've been around for a long time so you'll find plenty of info about them on here. I am using a reseller package from Voxtreme (http://www.voxtreme.com) myself at the moment and very happy after they solved the fork-bomb problems a few months ago. I would also recommend trying UKName.net (http://www.ukname.net). beley 05-24-2002, 09:44 AM Another happy MCHost customer here :D mrlarter 05-24-2002, 04:31 PM and another here...mchost is wonderful chinchilla 05-24-2002, 05:31 PM I've only been with MCHost a few days so I can't speak about performance issues but support has been super responsive! Change 05-25-2002, 04:56 PM Re: ImHosted Addition: I have been able to test a few support issues with ImHosted but they were answered by a totally incapable person (Riya). Glad I have my important domains at Voxtreme where support has been the best I've ever had (better than NetNation, Superb, Hostex, Site5). Iron* 05-25-2002, 04:58 PM Simply put, AlwaysWebHosting is one of the best out there. These guys know what they're doing. I know one of the owners and I'm always at his house, watching him take care of customer after customer. All the complaints/problems that may arise (rare) he handles in about an hour, and they do same day setup...so none of this 5-7 days garbage. Seriously, go with AlwaysWebHosting, I'm a customer of the reselling account, and it's amazing. Try it out! You won't be dissapointed. :D Thebeginner 05-25-2002, 10:34 PM I'm very happy with mchost. The support is great . You can't go wrong with them. :D :D :) ADEhost 05-26-2002, 01:13 AM From the list you gave, go with MChost, at least you know you have someone that is on top of there game in Unix. Mike |
