I'm a new bie & i have a web site , i have an account with cpanel including fantastico but i can't use it properly .

Actually i tried to search for an online guide for fantastico but i found nothing that i can make use of or may be cos i don't know any thing in webdesign ,may be.
i would like to get help from you ,experts!, may be some one can provide me with a simple idea about web design & answer my questions:

What are the function of the scripts & what are the kinds of the scripts?

by the way i use templates & try to change in the code as few as i could figure out!
wish i can find some one who understands my poor explaination to my poor situation.

Fantastico is just a script installer. After you decide which scripts you want to install, you can use Fantastico to install them.

There are a lot of scripts. If the name of the script isn't clear, do a search for that script name.

well, for example i want to make a picture or a logo as a background for my content.

for the menu i want it to be colored in a shadowy way i don't know how to make it this way,i mean is it a picture or just colors? .i want to know which program i can use to make a picture like this in www.thecottoncompany.net/art_gallery.asp for example ,i have go live , adope photoshop , image ready & paint shop pro.
well, i don't know how to use them quite well but i can figure them out if just some one guides me .

look , i know i'm clumsy when explaining what i want cos i don't know how to explain in a webmaster's kind of way .
i don't have any experience in this but i could change a little in the template i'm using by changing the html code ! just figured it out by intuation cos i don't know html either. i know you would want to do this :uzi:to me after reading this .

Trying to explain what everything does without a basic understand of web design wouldn't really help you much, you'd probably still be just as confused.

Your best bet it to start with HTML which can be learned via online tutorials, from there just play around in photoshop for a while. HTML is incredibly easy to learn and photoshop just takes a bit of time and patience. The two of them cover the basics of web design and will help you understand and plan where you want to take it from there.
