View Full Version : how to find how many hits a website receives?
JayUK 05-13-2006, 08:40 AM Is there any way to see how many hits a certain website gets a week or month?
If for example, I look up Davidbeckham.com on Alexa, it will tell me it has a traffic rank of 15,941, and it also says traffic rank for today, 39,742. The 39,742 isn't how many people have visited today is it?
whatever 05-13-2006, 09:03 AM No, the traffic rank on Alexa would mean that website was the x most visited website based upon Alexa's users/
Jelleuh 05-13-2006, 09:03 AM Most well visited sites have stats available. A popular programme to calculate stats is "awstats". If you really want to know how much visitors a certain site has, and it can't be found on the site, just ask the owner of the site, he'll probably know.
well you can look in Cpanel of yours , under awstats or others.

He's looking for the stats of other sites, not the stats of his own site .
Cardon 05-13-2006, 03:14 PM No, not really. For that information you would have to go to the owner or hoster for.
As for Alexa's rating, I really do not give an ounce of weight to it, seeing as it's justified only on people who use a rather poor toolbar.

I think the OP is trying to get the stats for sites that are not necessarily his/hers.
vidcontent 05-13-2006, 11:05 PM I think Alexa is very interesting bot not 100% accurate

rudradatta 05-16-2006, 01:33 AM hi,
There are not so trusted site by which you can count your hit. you can try your trafic in alexa(http://www.alexa.com) . but alexa is not so accuarte. if some body wants to increase the alexa rank then that can be increased easily.
Amdac 05-16-2006, 01:47 AM Alexa has absolutely nothing to do with traffic.

Looks like you copy/pasted part of my signature. :D
I ran a couple sites through statbrain and they aren't even a close. Two sites came up with 260ish visits/day, yet the two sites are pulling 50 and 1200 uniques a day. No third party site or program will ever be able to give accurate information unless it's tracking software being run on the site.
