Hello,

We are looking to use a new webmail program for our dialup isp. We were wondering if anyone could recommend a free or paid solution (not looking to spend much) for a nice clean webmail system with lots of features? We are currently using IMP but do not like it. squirrelmail is to plain.

Can someone please recommend a solution. We used Courier-IMAP and Postfix for the email severs, and use clamav and spamassassin as well.

Thank you,
Kyle

both horde and squirrel mail are very nice mail systems to use. If you do not like hte looks of them, have someone create a skin for you. squirrel mail has some fancy skins from nutsmail.com or have a designer build you a custom one tailed around your business design

Horde is really nice and I would put my vote in for it. I know of at least 2 universities that use it, I am sure there are more, one has over 30,000 students along with the normal faculty/staff that use it.

It's not free, and it's not inexpensive, but it certainly is quite excellent: @Mail (http://atmail.com/). I personally don't think any free product or similarly-priced paid product comes close.

I like Horde, I like how you can look at other email inboxes under admin. Thats good when owning a hosting company because I can look at support, sales, abuse with just the one loggin

Indeed. The University of Texas at Austin uses horde for all their campuses (largest 'chain' in Texas). That's a lot of users.

As you're not willing to spend much, you should try DWMail (http://www.dominion-web.com/products/dwmail/). I hope you'll love it as I do :)

Horde is a great one to use because it's very accessible.

I use uebimiau on my webservers.

It is easy in use and that is important for my costumers...

You probably haven't heard of Scalix (http://www.scalix.com) then. This is what I use, and the only one that I recommend to people serious about their business email.

Note: Its not designed for hosting environments, but if you are looking for something for a business that provides exchange functionality, this is one of the best candidates.

I like Icewarp Webmail best. It seems to have all the functions that I need and looks cool.

I have tried all of then and I give My personal opinion
Uebmiau - good - lot of bugs - heavy - free - bad support
Squirrel - very good - bugs - heavy - free - bad support
Horde - good - bugs - heavy - free - bad support
inova - very good - very good - paid - good support
Zimbra - very good - heavy - expensive - good support

Try webmail at google, many options. My question is for you, what exactly are you looking for? If you are looking for a free webmail, try Squirrel, maybe the best choice. If it is a paid one, may be hosted and with support, try inova or zimbra.

uebimiau - It is hell on earth if you try to migrate to something else in the future
imp/horde - Good, but has some bugs for Internet Explorer
Squirrel - It is the one I use these days.
Jawmail - Used it very little, but got some good recomendations for it. I know of at least 1 big telco that uses it.

Horde is my favorite.

Squirrelmail is the other available on my host, I find the look and feel awful personally.
