Calling all Fasthost Windows users,
MySQL is now available on Fasthosts, at last, however they have not installed the ODBC drivers on the windows machines.
Just wondering if I am the only one who would like to run windows sites with a MySQL database back-end.
If you do please email support@fasthost.co.uk to petition them on this matter.
All the best, Ant.

Question is....who in their right mind would pay £ 50 / database when they're as standard as Access DB's in Windows servers!!!

access is good for read only stuff, but slow and can corrupt when updating from a multi user environment...
MySQL is Fast and Multi User, perfect for dynamic updateable professional sites, which has been borne out by the uptake by so many designers.

I think the question is more of who would trust Fasthosts to run their database. Period.

I'm not necessarily hosting the database with Fasthosts, just want the drivers on the 2000 Boxes. ;)
Anyway I don't want this to turn into a slag Fasthosts topic, I just wondered if anyone out there was in the same boat.

I finally got rid of fasthosts, and I'm convinced that no one in their right mind would use their service to begin with. So the issue of fasthosts installing anything on their servers is inconcequential.
