They need to charge those prices in order to pay the web developer ;) MCHost-Marc 05-23-2002, 04:40 AM At least they're not selling everything for nothing ;) bigperm 05-23-2002, 04:44 AM Maybe they have REALLY REALLY good support. roly 05-23-2002, 04:49 AM I once found 10MB Space 500MB Bandwidth FrontPage extnesions FTP $30 a month The same company also offered Domain parking $120 a year virgil 05-23-2002, 05:11 AM I believe there are still legacy hosting companies out there. I remember way back in 1995 that the prices were like that, and the dot-com boom was just about to happen. Most of the customers are like people selling home made tobacco, beach towels with biblical messages, woodcrafts, and stuff like that. And remarkably, some of them are still with these hosters all those years. jeffrylee 05-23-2002, 05:12 AM I guess they have the best support.. they will call you every hour and ask if you have a question. :D HostInspect 05-23-2002, 05:22 AM Originally posted by jeffrylee I guess they have the best support.. they will call you every hour and ask if you have a question. :D LOL coux 05-23-2002, 06:23 AM Technical Support = $95/hr :bawling: Abu Mami 05-23-2002, 06:33 AM Holy balls! BTW - Take a look at the HTML source of their page. You'll find this line there... <META Name="description" Content="Web services provided by clee.com.inc include hosting, development, and consulting at reasonable prices."> Reasonable prices??!!!!!! Someone there has a serious substance abuse problem. tagalaxy.net 05-23-2002, 06:49 AM heh..clee offers 20MB, 1.5GB for $50 a month, and you have to pay extra for support Technical Support is available for $95.00/hr. These services may include training, design, page updates, scanning, graphics artwork, custom programming, on-line stores, and phone support. $5 a month extra for each email addy too and $100 for 2 years of domain registration jesus christ :P could get an RS ded server for less than the price of this account + support virgil 05-23-2002, 06:58 AM Listing on the Rockingham County Community Notes Page? man, I better get this deal right away. :dgrin: Aussie Bob 05-23-2002, 07:22 AM Good on 'em if they can get those prices. Not all folks on planet earth know how cheap hosting can get. Maybe they're marketing to their local market or something?? I know developers locally who charge $450/yr for basic hosting. It's all relative anyways. :) bigperm 05-23-2002, 07:26 AM Want to know the sad thing? They have customers. All of the websites listed on the sponsors (http://clee.com/notes/Business.asp) page of the Rockingham County Community Notes (http://clee.com/notes/) page seem to be customers of clee.com. I have to admit... I have met these people. The guy named the site after his son (Clee) and his son was in my Boy Scout Troop back in the day. All of the websites are for businesses in my area. What is wrong with what they do?? (2). Why is that such a sad thing? (3). Why do you have to "admit....I have met these people" ?? Gordo 05-23-2002, 08:29 AM Here's my suggestion of the most outrageously priced hosting. Networksolutions one-page website for $65 a year. virgil 05-23-2002, 08:58 PM Yea, just leave them be. Who knows maybe this Clee guy is sick and they need the money to cover the medical expenses. fractiousws 05-23-2002, 10:29 PM  RH Robert 05-23-2002, 11:04 PM Originally posted by virgil Who knows maybe this Clee guy is sick and they need the money to cover the medical expenses. Their company info page is certainly appropriate for their service. Go to http://www.clee.com/Company.htm with your sound up and you'll know what I mean. This is outrageous: http://www.1dollarhosting.com/ ;) Andyc 05-24-2002, 06:41 AM This is the telephone company and main ISP in my home town in rural Nebraska. http://www.sentco.net/pricing.html 10 MB for $50 a month. Wow. smacx 05-24-2002, 10:48 AM Or how about $1500 a month for a megabit? Thats only 324 gigs... This is what us canadians pay for colo... Angel78 05-24-2002, 11:28 AM Well there are customers out there (believe me) that are willing to pay much more than 150 € for a simple site that uses no more than 1-2 gig per month, they just need some extra support = you have to visit them in their offices once in 3-4 months :) Rotifer 05-24-2002, 02:48 PM It does seem a bit harsh to make fun of these people, but I enjoyed the site for bodyguard training (http://www.bodyguard-training.com/default.htm). Note the bodyguards all seem to work at Nascar events. Sorry Aussiebob. iamdave 05-24-2002, 06:43 PM Originally posted by bigperm My vote goes to http://www.clee.com/Hosting.htm Don't buy from them, if you think they are too expensive. I've seen something similar with a hosting company in spain. Their transfer prices work out at $15000/month/Mbit. YES, that's right, $15000 bucks for 1 Megabit! Unfortunately I forgot the URL. When i remember I'll post it here. Nothing against our competitor but companies like this one really deserves a boykott. microsol 05-25-2002, 06:30 AM Originally posted by microsol I've seen something similar with a hosting company in spain. They didn't even list him in search engines, unmetered bandwidth came out to equal bout 2 gigs too... tzdesigner 05-25-2002, 04:56 PM By the look of the so called "Professional site" you can totally tell they are doing great business :) GWDGuy 05-26-2002, 05:59 PM Originally posted by Paul-ukhost LOL!
