View Full Version : Looking to Buy a Automation/Billing Software for My Hosting.
stayalive 05-06-2006, 08:06 PM Hello folks,
I got 200 bucks to spend on just the support/billing/automatic account creator, so need some feedback on which software would be good.
Do not suggest whmautopilot cause i tried it and its hella confusion using it.
Others suggested to me are whmcomplete solutions << but dunno if its good and easy to easy.
Other options i see is clientexec << 125$ only :) so how many of you guys would suggest i go with it as i think it has a good looking interface.
Then there Accountlabsplus by creators of fantasico, but i find it dry (by that i mean its themes/template/looks not good). But it has one major advantage that it supports all the 3 major panels : Plesk, DA and Cpanel.
So can someone tell me what software to chooose (MB is too expensive for me i want a owned license).
Please let me know which would be best option.
Thanks
Bryc3 05-06-2006, 08:07 PM ClientExec has my vote. I use it for billing clients, and it works wonders for one-time charges as well.
njean 05-06-2006, 08:09 PM go with ClientExec, we use it and we're really happy.
stayalive 05-06-2006, 08:24 PM Can someone setup a clientexec on some demo subdomain if possible so i just look at its interface if possible? I have tried demo of accountplus its good overall but lacks the looks.
silentemp 05-06-2006, 08:37 PM Yea my host uses clientexec and its really nice. I like the layout and ticket support features. I suggest clientexec.
Shrapnet|Mike 05-06-2006, 09:16 PM But it has one major advantage that it supports all the 3 major panels : Plesk, DA and Cpanel.
Clientexec also has plugins to these three control panels as well.

You can check out the clientexec demo at www.demo.clientexec.com. It's a version behind right now, I'll put a reminder in that it needs an update.
WireNine 05-06-2006, 09:41 PM You could get a Modernbill Owned License 250 for $179.95, and then upgrade once you reach the 250 limit :)
Josh Stein 05-06-2006, 10:03 PM My company was using WHMAP for 2-3 years and we just completed a transition to MB. This was mainly because WHMAP did not have a half-way decent import script for people upgrading within their software (from version two to three).
eSited 05-06-2006, 10:28 PM I highly recommend whmcs.com - lots of features.
stayalive 05-07-2006, 12:04 AM Oh so many people with client exec and pth with whmcs i am getting lost, its an investment i do not want to go to waste. And sharpnet u work for clientexec ? what you mean put a reminder up for clientexec?
And client exec can do automation of account creation for all 3 major panels?
Shrapnet|Mike 05-07-2006, 12:48 AM Yes, I do work for ClientExec. I meant I'll remind my coworker that handles the demo version that it's a release behind.
Yes it can do automatic account creation for all 3 of those control panels.
stayalive 05-07-2006, 01:57 AM Hey sharp one more thing, does it support directi reseller api or any other api, cause i got an api from some company which is directi reseller themselves? So would that still work? And any discount for a small time company like me that you can get me ? And is there a server wide clientexec like accountlabs which means even my clients can use clientexec to sell their products?
Bryc3 05-07-2006, 02:06 AM Stayalive, each of your client's will need a seperate ClientExec license. However, ClientExec does offer a reseller program, which allows you to give your clients ClientExec.
stayalive 05-07-2006, 02:17 AM But they charge some fee for monthly license, i liked accountlab where you can use the license on any domain on ur server i wish client exec would put that feature.
BeYourOwnWebHost 05-07-2006, 02:53 AM I recommend Lpanel, lots of powerful features.

Yes, it supports the directi reseller api. The account can be from directi or one of their resellers.
I'm afraid I'm not in the sales department so I do not handle that. If you already have an owned license of a competitor then you may qualify for the refugee discount. Details for that are on the clientexec website.
No there isn't a server wide license for any domain. There is internal reseller licenses (can only be sold/given to clients hosted with you) that are pretty cheap if you're interested in offering it to your customers.
MKHosting 05-07-2006, 10:23 AM Modern Bill has my vote. I have to used Clientexec and do prefer modernbill. There are some cheap licenses around from resellers.

And who might be those resellers got any urls?
MKHosting 05-07-2006, 03:11 PM You can find them here, try searching. They can also be found on google. There are two versions of modernbill. Unlimited where you have unlimited clients. And Lite where you have a limit of 50 clients.
cyberhostuk 05-07-2006, 05:40 PM ClientExec has my vote :)

AAh : The ModernBill Unlimited Client Owned License is available at MBLicenses for only $499.95. All owned licenses include the following:
Well i dont see why i should buy from third party cause they got same rates as the main mb site so why would someone buy from mblicenses instead? I fail to see the reason.
And i think its way too expensive so i guess clientexec should be good but when i become millionaire i can buy mb.
MKHosting 05-08-2006, 01:36 PM Going on monthly there usually cheaper. $18.50 for unlimited. Last time I checked on the MB site it was $24 from them. And if you want the lite version you cannot buy it from modernbill directly.
GP-JT 05-08-2006, 04:28 PM Also resellers are able to offer a 50 client option that MB doesn't offer on their site. The 50 client can be useful for people just starting.

well thats only leased license not owned license.
Anyways i downloaded the trial and played with mb for like 2 hrs and still couldnt figure out why the packages were not using default cpanels packages features at all. And one more thing i noticed was that it doesnt display on order page the features of that package.
Say i have a plan called ABC and it has 20 ftp, 20 sql and 20 of other things. And i want those features listed on the order page when user selects to order ABC package, this feature u might be familiar with whmautopilot as it displays clearly what your ordering on order page. So is such a thing possible or not? If not mb is not my preference. I think even clientexec has that feature.
stayalive 05-09-2006, 03:55 PM Hey guys anyone here got mb running on their server as i wana test the order page and same goes for clientexec i forgot which companies using which as order page is the most important page :).
Edit: I found mb order page demo from some company here , but couldnt find company which has clientexec as billing software so please let me know thanks
GnomeyNewt 05-09-2006, 04:11 PM We are using ClientExec and so far are pretty happy with it. ClientExec was quick and easy, took less than an hour to get up and running and setup for ordering! I used ModernBill fulltime as a billing rep and it does have a lot of features - A LOT - that most billing systems don't have, it is very advanced. But depending on your company you may not need all of those features, so take a look at both and see which one will fit your needs.
Main reasons why ModernBill and ClientExec were in our top list is because they have been around for a while and have had a constant team working on their products and proved to be stable. Some of the newer scripts look great, however a stable product is much more valuable than one that "does everything".

Try going through the order process at the clientexec website? I would think they would be using their own software.
stayalive 05-09-2006, 07:10 PM Thanks GP but they do not have like hosting plan order thingy so i specifically looking for some hosting order form for client exec i cannot recall who offers clientexec and is a hosting company here.
