Keeps creating them... it's raising the number of viruses by the minute. Rewdog 05-22-2002, 03:19 PM :( Kazaa seems to be the only file sharing prog I have not installed... Decided not to since that toptext post Vex 05-22-2002, 03:21 PM It creates files with names of games and applications that people would want to download so I can just spread the worm to others on Kazaa. So far 2.2GB worth. rockergrrl 05-22-2002, 04:12 PM Check out Kazaa Lite http://www.kazaalite.com No spyware.. no ads.. and so far, no worms for me... :) Vex 05-22-2002, 04:17 PM Yea, I have that.. but it still has the same files on it, so the worm could get anyone that uses KaZaA. Alanis 05-22-2002, 06:08 PM eek...I have kazza but have not gotten any worms or viruses. would it be wise to un-install it? Kru 05-22-2002, 06:11 PM eek...I have kazza but have not gotten any worms or viruses. would it be wise to un-install it? If you can uninstall it without much trouble, I would do it. I tried Kazaa once, and it was ok. I like WINMX much better. Anybody tried that? Have any opinions on it? skylab 05-22-2002, 06:12 PM there is news of a new virus specifically targeting kazaa. uninstall that crap. utadmin 05-22-2002, 06:49 PM Another reason why i don't have any file sharing programs on my pcs Its the sharing bit which bothers me  akashik 05-23-2002, 01:08 AM Originally posted by utadmin Its the sharing bit which bothers me  exactly.. I had to download an MP3 of a customer once as he didn't have anything 'processed' into MP3 and I didn't have any of his CD's around to rip the song. As he's pretty well known I went to Audio Galaxy and did a search for it. Before I installed anything I ran a few checks, made sure my firewall was updated, and removed any files on my computer I know could present a security risk. It's probably severe overkill but I'd rather spend that time making sure than to risk having someone snooping around where they shouldn't Greg Moore Lonny 05-23-2002, 01:17 AM hmm, I still remember the happy days I was using napster Studio64 05-23-2002, 01:45 AM Originally posted by skylab there is news of a new virus specifically targeting kazaa. Not exactly true. It targets programs using the Fast-Track (http://www.fasttrack.nu/) protocal. Open-source protocal so who knows how many different pieces of software use it.
