Stupid Kazaa worm! Keeps creating them... it's raising the number of viruses by the minute.

:(
Kazaa seems to be the only file sharing prog I have not installed... Decided not to since that toptext post

It creates files with names of games and applications that people would want to download so I can just spread the worm to others on Kazaa. So far 2.2GB worth.

Check out Kazaa Lite

No spyware.. no ads.. and so far, no worms for me... :)

Yea, I have that.. but it still has the same files on it, so the worm could get anyone that uses KaZaA.

If you can uninstall it without much trouble, I would do it. I tried Kazaa once, and it was ok. I like WINMX much better. Anybody tried that? Have any opinions on it?

exactly.. I had to download an MP3 of a customer once as he didn't have anything 'processed' into MP3 and I didn't have any of his CD's around to rip the song. As he's pretty well known I went to Audio Galaxy and did a search for it. Before I installed anything I ran a few checks, made sure my firewall was updated, and removed any files on my computer I know could present a security risk.

It's probably severe overkill but I'd rather spend that time making sure than to risk having someone snooping around where they shouldn't

Not exactly true. It targets programs using the Fast-Track (http://www.fasttrack.nu/) protocal. Open-source protocal so who knows how many different pieces of software use it.
