I thought I was ok with someone providing little support for little$, but was I wrong: Powweb - stay away fom them!!!

So, How do I go about finding a host with the right mix? Unix, 200mgs, less than 1 gig transfer a month, a few email boxes. IOW, nothing special, but want RELIABLE! Really don't want to go more than $20 a month. Don't need much support at all, unless they are down or mail not working...

Suggestions anywone??????

Thanks,
remware

If you post a query into the requests forum you will receive alot of offers.

Also try to find a host that offers a money back guarantee.

Your request sure isnt unreasonable, but definitley check your potential host out before signing up!
Drop them a few emails with questions, etc.

yep... post a request a precise as possible (what you want -- what you don't) on the web hosting requests forum. That's the best way to find a good deal. If you're not sure about the host, just do a search on the forum with the hostname and see what others think about this host.

With a little luck, you should be able to find a good host who matches those requirements and is reliable for around $10. :)

I suggest that you make a new post about a host that you are thinking about going with because sometimes services get better or get worse.

Rem,

Sorry to hear of your bad experience - heard plenty of good comments about powweb, guess some matches aren't meant to be. For your search provide a couple details in the Hosting-request forum, and an email address and I'm confident you'll receive plenty providers eager to please :)

Sincerely,

-Matt

I would definately suggest iPowerWeb! #1 in support (FREE email and phone support) . Answers email inquiries within 24 hours!

150 megs of space.

15 gigs of bandwidth (data transfer)

PHP, personal CGI-BIN, MYSQL, subdomains, pop, webbased, and forwarding email accounts, and much more!

99% uptime guarentee (seems like a hundred percent! really!)

30 day moneyback guarentee.

All this for only $7.95 per month!

You may order more bandwidth and space through an additional services order form after you sign up.

I would definately recommend iPowerWeb.com!

Sincerely,

Patrick

but I find it a little fishy when 2 hours before someone post a question wanting to know what everyone thinks of a host.
Then 2 hours later does a complete commercial for them claiming they are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

So how do you know they answer their support tickets in 24 hours or less?
