Hey,

Hostonfly.net (http://www.hostonfly.net) is going to be my new host, well, I think it will, I just signed up and will use the free trial to see if it works for me...

What's special about them is, that they charge daily, and only for actually used ressources. And I can use unlimited domains :)

If anyone has had experience with them, welcome to let me know, thanks.

There appears to be another one like this, BSDWebhosting.net (http://www.bsdwebhosting.net), anyone an idea which to prefer?

Great concept -- solid service so far.....(I like the whole "open" environment.....Pay for what you use.) After a few months with them it would be hard for me to go back to the "traditional" payment methods.

Disclaimer --- my sites are fairly small < 100 megs transfer per day. I would love to see how this concept works on some sites that are more popular.

I would go with HostOnFly over BSDWebhosting.net.

HostOnFly doesn't only charge on a pay for what you use basis, their main hosting services are on multiple clustered servers via HostCentric.

I've been using their service for many months with very, very few problems. Their support is pretty good, too.

I like their approach to billing. It's way ahead of the curve IMO. The whole clustered hosting platform is nice too.

It works nicely, and so far I havenīt even put money in my account :)
Support was quick (sub 24 hours) to get my .ch domains activated.

Gosh, my account was charged 0.01$ today :D
Now I have a negative balance sheet
I urgently need to fuel up my account...

Seriously, I love this approach to hosting :)

Yes, they are onto something there IMO. I hope they can make enough $$$$ to keep their dream going. I love seeing innovation like this. Congrats to them indeed!! :)

Yeah,

Host on fly is one of the best concepts in host around.
I should say, they have an USP :

Cluster based ( Giving better uptime).
Fast cgi
Fast PHP ( persistent db connection : good for those running forums...
And the way they charge you.

I am very impressed with the whole Idea...!

Hostonfly is definitely a very affordable hosting for small websites, but they should clarify how much it actually costs (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=52118).

They limit the email quota to a max of 10MB per account. Worse still, they only allowed 1MB per email..... how am i goinfg to receive my emails with attachment. What a waste ... actually wanted to transfer to them . :(

This does not seem to out of the way. Alot of hosts do this for obvious reasons.
