Here goes.

I am a webdesigner and i also run a webhosting company. I have my hosting site, a gas central heating site, webdesign site, travel site, computer services site etc
They all currently need promoting to get its and customers up. Since they are all different and i have the job of promoting them all i was wondering if any of you know any wide marketing ideas which dont cost too much and can be applied to all sorts of sites.

I have looked at ineedhits.com and various other sites like that but im not sure they work.
I also have free listings on most of the search engines and i was wndering what the advantages of paying for submission in the ikotomi search listings are???

If you have any ideas of how i can go about doing this please let me know.

You might be fortunate enough to have had some pages included in Inktomi's index without paying but I'd wager that it's not a significant number of your pages and that they're not well-positioned.

Paying Inktomi also means that your pages are spidered every 48 hours, so if you update your pages regularly your listings will be up-to-date. For one thing, that's very helpful if you're tweaking things to try to change your positioning. Do that for Google, for example, and you won't know until the next monthly update how successful you might have been.
