Hi all !

I'm new here, and I'm also new in reselling (actually I'm also new to web hosting since I'm a freelance designer hacking my way into web design and stuff). I've started my reseller account at site5 about 3 months ago, and if I mention that I'm on 'copernic' I guess y'all know why I'm asking this... (-_-')......

Some background info first:

- I'm currently using the USD19.95 plan which includes 4GB space and 60GB bandwidth.
- I have about 8 web sites on my account now, all low-traffic db-driven sites (coz they're all new).
- I need tech support frequently.
- Buget max. USD30.00 / month

What I'm looking for:

- Very, very, very reliable server
- Good tech support (fast respond time, willing to fix stuff for me etc)
- Anoymous nameservers
- WHM / cPanel
- Unlimited resources such as accounts, email accounts, MySQL etc
- If possible, I would like to have more than 4GB/60GB, but that's just bonus

Although I think a reseller shared hosting would do now, but I'm also considering VPS, but I know near nothing about VPS (will I have to install and upgrade everything myself? Will I get enough RAM on my account? Does it allow streaming, LDAP? etc etc)

So it would be great that if you guys and girls can recommend some reliable reseller / VPS providers to me, it would be best that it's a company that you're familiar with.

Sorry about the newbie questions and many many thanks in advance ! (^_^)

Hi

for a linux host, you should be able to find a host in your budget.

on the main page of wht, go to the advertising forum ;)

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your response, but I'd really like to hear from someone who has experience with the company that they recommend (I really don't want the site5 nitemare all over again...)

u get 20 GB hostign space at ur budget with good support and reliable server. Try searching in google as resellers plan under $20 with 20GB space. U wud get some

You will not meet this requirement with those specs

- Very, very, very reliable server

Hello shiro5678,

The best advise I can give you if you want realibility is take your budget and buy a package you actually need with some room for growth. Avoid the temptation of buying a large hosting package for as little as possible...

Based on these comments alone I would seriously consider a reseller solution over a VPS. If you need something fully managed where you do not need to worry about anything other then adding accounts and hosting your customers, a VPS (and even a managed VPS) will not meet your requirements.

Hope this helps...

You won't get a great VPS for $30. You've also got to think about the management levels of a VPS - you need to have a good idea of what your doing as alot of providers only offer basic management.

I agree your looking at a minimum of $50 for a decent VPS these days.

Have a look in the VPS forums and see what people are recommending ta the moment.

I like Liquid Web's fully managed VPS. A small version is available from Sonet7 for $49.95.

Thanks everyone for your comments ! I guess I should stick to shared hosting then, at least for now, until I have more budget and knowledge in the field... :)

So is there any happy reseller customers here? I almost went with HostGator once but I heard some bad stuff about them too... really difficult to make up my mind... :(

I would say VPS b/c of streaming but some Resellers focused on that market may be able to to help you. WHT can guy you on your way. Good luck.
