Months ago I hired a programmer to create a store with ZenCart. I thought that ZenCart was the fastest online store software available, and I wanted to get a store online as soon as possible.

Unfortunately my programmer decided to rewrite ZenCart instead of use it, so I fired him. Now it's time to try again, this time with a programmer who will follow instructions ... :)

Once again I'm looking for an online store system that is fast and easy to get online ASAP. What are your suggestions for one of the fastest to install and use online store system?

Please make sugegstions only if you have personal experience with the software you recommend. I don't want to be confused by second-hand ideas, thanks.

Oh, and by the way, I have a database with nearly 10,000 products to sell, so I prefer a system that can accept a database file upload when it's time to update my products. There's no way I can afford to update products one at a time.

Low cost or free would ne nice too ... :)

www.x-cart.com is quite straightforward and quick to install and it has a product import facility. I can usually licence, upload and install in about an hour.

www.jshop.co.uk was the quickest I've ever done, 15 minutes from receiving the files to opening up the admin!

Both carts will work out of the box (after you have done your settings/payment meothds etc. Customising takes some time but if you're in a hurry you can be theoretically be trading in a few of hours.

If you're serious about doing business online it's worth buying the right tools for the job, often free/cheap doesn't work.
