I have a 512 MB pen drive and also a 512MB MP3 player that i can also use as a pen drive.

They dont work on my old windows 98 pc, as i think i need some kind of drivers.

Does anybody know where i can obtain these and get my memory sticks to work on my old pc?

Thanks, mike

It's probably not going to be possible to get drivers for 98, with a new pen drive. Infact, didn't they come out with some kindof report that says Windows 98 is the main cause for global warming? That can't be healthy for you. :p

If you are using WIndows 98 (first edition) you may be out of luck. You'll need to shop around specifically for a flash storage useable under 98 or upgrade to at least 98SE (most of these type units have 98SE drivers available) or an OS that doesn;t require extra drivers such as WIn2k, WinXP, OSX, Linux, xBSD, etc.

Well tell me when you insert the pen drive in usb port of ur win 98 machine does ask for location of driver?

If so one thing you can try is copy your windows xp system folder and ini folder on a disc and take it to ur win98 machine and when it asks for driver ask it to look in your cd drive and if ur lucky u will get it working. (well i have used this method several times to fix my ethernet card issues on win98 so it might work for pen drive also).

I'd suggest you to check the website of pendrive and pendrive player manufacturer for drivers for windows 98. Usually these devices come with a drivers CD but if in case you missed the CD, try ther website or search online.

its alright if you didn't purchased the drives yourself but they must have the manufacturer name on them like brand name. You can search for the drivers on that company's website or search of them online.
