can any one help? after one of my servers was completly rendered useless, i have now set up another in its place, and setup all the accounts again. however one user has complained that he cannot restore his site using the cobalt restore feature, it gives an error stating that his site path is now different to his old path.

i.e. now site130, but his old site path was site189

is there a way to solve this ? any help appreciated.

Well the fastest way to fix this that i can think of off hand, is to simply make a symbolic link for that directory that its asking for, pointing to the current directory he has.

i cannot do this, as the site number that the customer used to have is now taken up by another user's site.

Well I have done a really fast backup, and taken a look at the file.

The first bunch of lines in the file show the information on what site it is suppose to goto. You may want to try changing that infomation by hand and trying it then.

I've never tried it myself so i'm not sure it will work. However I suppose its worth a shot for you.
