Hello, I just purchased my first personal domain through NameCheap. It was simply GREAT experience!

However, the semi-anonymous project I am involved in requires me to use eNom's nameservers and email forwarding. I am doing this for the first time in my life (I always used my own DNSes before...), so naturally I have some questions...

- how do I setup catch all forwarding?
- how do I setup forwarding to multiple addresses?

Hello.

Email forwarding is easily done using Namecheap's user-fiendly control panel. It is self-explanatory. Just use the default Namecheap nameservers and the email forwarding option will be shown at the left side of your control panel screen.

If you need any help setting things up, just email their support staff. They are very helpful.

I obviously knew how to setup an ordinary mailforward: joe@example.com to joe@isp.com :)

I want how to setup something more complicated:

- ANYTHING@example.com to joe@isp.com
- sales@example.com to joe@isp.com AND ann@isp.com AND hugh@isp.com

Their support isn't answering for more than 15 hours already... (And no, I am NOT complaining about this!!!).

You can use "*" as a catchall forwarding address. For example, *@yourdomain.com .

Richard beat me to it :) Although I was a little confused when you said you wanted to use eNom's nameservers (instead of NameCheap's). You'd have to use your eNom account to set that up and I think you would already be familiar with that.

Stu, name-services.com belongs to eNom... Of course, I am using my NC interface to set them up.

BTW, support request is still unanswered (although we've chatted with Richard quite well via PMs) - of course, it does not really needs to be answered any longer, since the 'problem' is mostly resolved. Perhaps it was never received by NameCheap?

And where else you're supposed to see them? I *can* see in their control panel "transfer DNS to Webhost" and "transfer DNS back to us". No, they don't specifically tell you that their DNSes will be name-services.com, but do you really care? :)

Well, it's just that most registrar's tell you what their nameservers are and you come to recognise them and kinda instantly notice when one is out of sync. It's a very flimsy excuse for caring, I know :) I found it a little bit disconcerting that they hid their nameservers from me :( But you're right, as long as their system works, it's no big deal. However, it was the reason this thread is continuing. I didn't know they were using Enom's nameservers until I did a whois on one of my NameCheap domains, part-way thru this thread :)
