I have a domain (hed-strong.com) and I am trying to make it resolve correctly to www.hed-strong.com when the user types hed-strong.com into a browser.
So far I have done the following:
Created a new Virtual Site with the following settings
Site Settings
IP Address 212.84.175.175
Host Name www
Domain Name hed-strong.com
Web Server Aliases hed-strong.com, www.hed-strong.com
Email Server Aliases hed-strong.com
I have also added some entries to the dns settings:
hed-strong.com -> 212.84.175.175
www.hed-strong.com -> 212.84.175.175
hed-strong.com mail is sent to the High priority mail server www.hed-strong.com
But when I ping www.hed-strong.com I get a response
Pinging www.hedstrong.com [217.158.55.12] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 217.158.55.12: bytes=32 time=120ms TTL=250
Reply from 217.158.55.12: bytes=32 time=100ms TTL=250
Reply from 217.158.55.12: bytes=32 time=70ms TTL=250
Reply from 217.158.55.12: bytes=32 time=101ms TTL=250
If I ping hed-strong.com it looks as if it is thinking about it, and I get:
Bad IP address hed-strong.com.
If I try and telnet to hed-strong.com 110 it doesn't let me either.
What am I doing wrong? And what do you recommend I set in the DNS settings as a default for each account?
