From personal experience: :(

Apparently if you use too much disk space they will cut you of, but im not sure - I had accounts deleted without warning before I could get there!

Hi

Does anyone know the spec of there server they use for there unix reseller when I ask this question I get:

What is the spec of the servers that I would be reselling the space on ?
We do not provide this information.

Then I ask

Could you tell me how much ram each server has ?
More than enough. I do not know and this information would not be made available at any rate.

More than enough is not an answer

All I want to know is

How much Ram and the CPU mhz

Thanks
Garry

I have a sneaky suspicion that the heavy handed deletions are a thing of a past. But nonetheless their reliability and uptime is rock solid.

Many differing opinions about them out there, but it's well worth a look.

Cheers

lol. They have thousands of customers and with that size of client base, you can't please everyone. :)

Hi

That is very ture but for Donhost Support not to know there spec of the servers I find a bit funny.

So I emailed this

Your answer more then enough is not an answer to me! I was
look to have my reseller account with you but after that answer I will be looking else where.

and got a link to there website to a page which say a min of 1gb of ram.

Don't understand why they didn't give me that link in the begin.

Thanks
Garry

My personal experience : :(

Good uptime and network, though. Completely unprofessional behavior. PM me if you want more details

Indeed, the servers are fine but support is just rude and un-professional.

Are we talking about the same company here? Support is not rude or un-professional, and response times are fast. Web space is unrestricted and you *are* told if an account has been deleted and for what reson. (This is based on current my dealings with them. There are too many flames on this board and others about them, and justified too, but you'll also see that they're mostly old. "A wise man is wise because he has learned from his mistakes")

Great reliable company in my opinion, and I'm not their sales rep :D

Well they must have improved a alot since my dealings with them... as long as they are run by the same guy I wouldn't touch them with a 10ft clown pole.

i've got to agree, everytime donhost is mentioned there are people saying "but look at these threads, donhost is bad", but the threads are so old. i have had so far three clients files (not accounts!) removed for breaking the aup, two were mp3's and the other was a software download, and they seem to tell me about anything they do.

when i asked why they would delete an account, they said only for pornography or warez, or if an account broke the rules more than three times.

what i want to know is how long ago all of these people who keep bashing donhost actually had one of their accounts, because i think they are all behind the times and giving the place a bad name for nothing.

OK, I dit quit them THIS WEEK for the same kind of problems than the ones mentioned previously. So my own personal experience is that they are not any better now than before.

I am quite convinced you can be happy with them, but I was not. I just express my opinion, like everyone else here, I had a very bad experience with them, and it's a recent one.

I believe donhost has improve 10 fold

but the proccess of being well taken in WHT is going to be slow an painful if it is even attempted

But you must remember that here on WHT hosts would rather flame ( or used to ) each other rather that say a kind word

i have noticed a big change the other way

Which is when i registered .. i didn't wanna get caught in the crossfire

But there is no interesting reading anymore :bawling:

Anyways

Donhost is one of the best reseller hosts in the UK

whatever you do don't use Farsehosts .. i mean Fasthosts

Yes well daniel will be daniel

He isn't the best in the "customer care department" ... but would u be when your managing things basically on your own .... and you get questions like

"What version of php is installed on the server"

I imagen that would test everyones tempers ...

Glad he has some help once again ...

I'm sure both Steve and John will help with daniel and the clients of donhost make donhost a better company and respected
