I recently put up a post looking for content providers for my forum in the help wanted forum, and the post was removed for me 'soliciting feedback'?
Thing is, I didn't ask once for feedback of my site. I wanted people to come help populate forums. I'm paying REAL money for help. That IS a job. I'm a little confused as to why this happened.
Anyhow, the questions are...
How did I violate any rules with my recent post?
If I ventured into a grey area, how can I post the same thing 'the correct way'?
Any help would be great.
Thanks

From the forum rules (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/announcement.php?f=33&a=55):
This forum is not for simply announcing your site. Soliciting for new members or moderators of your forum is strictly prohibited.
Even at a paid position, this would still be violating that rule, as you're soliciting members to post content (ie: threads) for your forums. This isn't the place for that.

So posting jobs is ok, but not jobs that are detrimental to the well being of WHT? EVERY job listed on here is competition in some way/shape/form. This is a webhosting forum for crying out loud. Nature of the beast.
Anyhow, thanks. I'll go to the helpdesk and report a ticket.

This is really similar to an article writing position : tho considerably less demanding. Content is a big part of any website and it can take a lot of shapes and forms.
Anyhow : What specifically is the violation? Is it the link to the forums? Would it be acceptable to require viewers to PM for the link or would that still count as soliciting?
I am not sure I understand the problem with this sort of job offer.. Unless WHT is afraid of the competition? Which is a legit fear ofcourse! Any forum which gains users has the potential to take users away from this forum and this is your forums after-all and its your right to moderate and censor whichever posts you deem harmful to your business.
If thats the case : by all means we will yield the matter and go away, but if not : we sure would appreciate the opportunity to get in contact with some people who could help with the work we want done.
Cheers
