Do you find the the changes on the MX edition enough to upgrade. Or take for instance, you already have the latest Studio from MM (prior MX line) and your choice is either upgrading to the Studio MX or the Adobe Web Collection--which way do you go?
For some background information?
Yes I'm a beginner as far as web design goes.
Currently getting a feel of the DW4/Flash4/FW4 panels.
No past experience with PS products.
No extensive experience in graphic design.
My interest in this programs are to build some pages (a mix of content and sales of product/services).
I will potentially have both programs, but its gonna be a one at a time basis so I'm juggling which to get first.

...I woud upgrade Fireworks and Flash only, and I wouldn't buy Adobe's products. Macromedia is GREAT for the web.
Try using Gimp (it's free! - www.gimp.org/win32/) with Fireworks. :) and you'll be amazed.

without much experience behind the reins of photoshop I might suggest you go for Fireworks. Photoshop is the best if the best, but it's a huge program and often it stuns a lot of people (I've been using it since version 4 and still haven't uncovered everything).
Dreamweaver is the best of the html programs and worth the money. I personally don't see a lot of reason to upgrade to MX - I still use Dreamweaver 3 myself and it's fine for the task.

I think that Dreamweaver MX is definitely worth the upgrade. First off, you should not even try to compare it to Dreamweaver 4, you should compare it to Dreamweaver Ultradev. It is an essential upgrade if you want to rapidly build database driven websites in multiple languages (coldfusion, php, asp, asp.net, jsp). Also, photoshop is an extremely powerfull image editing application. It comes with imagready which is meant for doing web stuff. I think photoshop is better than fireworks, however, it is also very expensive. I think that if you haven't just paid hundreds of dollars, your best option would be to buy the upcoming macromeda studio because it includes flash (much better than livemotion) and it includes dreamweaver. You can certainly do very well with fireworks. Later on, you should definitely check out photoshop. If your work is purely static pages or you don't use some of the newer scripting languagaes, I do not see a point in purchasing the new version of dreamweaver. Also, Flash 6 is much better than flash 5. However, it is not very easy to learn.
Hope this helps.

Until I read your post I didn't even know that Dreamweaver MX was being released. I went and downloaded the trial version and I LOVE it. I will definately be making the upgrade.

Dreamweaver MX is an upgrade of Ultradev too. I guess they are only going to offer the one product now.

and the combo of HomeSite too (which I don't think will be sold individually anymore).
