I am just wondering.
Does anyone really care about high quality hosting anymore? or Just a low price?
I mean Affinity charges $19.95 for 150MB of Space and 10GB of Bandwidth, and I take it there up time, and support is great.
Where as most companies charge around $9.95 for that, and give ok support, and uptime.
What are your opinions?

Shows to me that Affinity are pricing themselves in a way to maintain a profit into the future, and aren't running their business on hot air and promises. There are plenty of people who are willing to pay that for hosting. It's pretty close to being inline with our own pricing, and we're not particularly suffering because of it. Anyone charging $1 a gig for hosting is generally only going to be coming from one place. We could do that, and have our hardware/transfer costs cut by 2/3 tomorrow, but we won't be doing so. Quality costs.

Hate to use it but:
You pay for what you get. :)
Pretty much always the rule of thumb. As a client I care about the support and uptime my upstream provides. As a business owner I care about the uptime and support I offer my clients.
But then again I dont pay $50/month for my servers, and I dont charge $.50 cents / 20GB plans :)

A combination of price and service (i.e. support and uptime) is what is best; a host that is too cheap will be seen to have bad support and wont be used. A host who charged too much for hosting, wont be used due to high prices. So I see if a host can find the right level ground then they will be successful.
