Hi. Can someone tell me how do I create a DNS for my domain name? I have registered the domain www.whatever.com and I have been assigned a number of ips.
So how do I assign the ns1 and ns2 IPs to the domain name?
I have www.whatever.com
(I have the following IPS 12.345.67.x8 and 12.345.67.x9) so how do I create the Primary and Secondery name servers?
Basiclly, I would like to host all my domains under:
Pri: ns1.whatever.com 12.345.67.x8
Sec: ns2.whatever.com 12.345.67.x9
Thanks
Go to the control panel (Domain Manager) your registrar has gave you and there is an option over there to add nameservers.
Enter the nameserver and the IP in the proper fields and they should be all set in about 24-48 hours.

Thanks for the replies. ill see what I can churn out in my control panel. I have a domain registered at UK Reg www.ukreg.com and I have a .com regietered at Network Solutions, which I want to add IPS to.
WCSWEB, I may hold you to that. Ill see how I get on. Thanks.

If I were you I would use the UKReg domain for the name servers. I wouldn't even get into the network solutions problems of adding name servers.

Well, I have tried and tried to add IP to my domain name with Network Solutions, but its been a nightmare. I registered the domain name, I am the admin and technical contact, however, when I try to add nameservers to my domain, I always get this email:
We have received your Notify Template, but we are unable to verify
its authenticity. Therefore, we cannot comply with your instructions.
In order to correct this situation, please:
1. Make sure that you have chosen your current Guardian method
from the headings below and entered that method into line 0a of
the Notify Template.
2. Make the appropriate corrections for your Guardian method.
See details below.
3. Send your corrected Notify Template to
notify@networksolutions.com.
I have made all the changes to the template, but I always receive this email. I have sent this to them 8 times now, and Im just about p**d with them!! Im considering moving/ transfering this to godaddy, www.godaddy.com Anyone here with godaddy. What are they like? Is it easy to add nameservers to a domain? Also, do Network Solutions charge for transfering a domain name away? Anyone else had similar problems with Network Solutions?
