Hey all,
Was just wondering what everyone uses as a customer management database. I know most control panels store most of this info, but I am looking more for a tool that stores customer name, address, etc.... Anyone know of any good systems that do this?
Thanks!

We wrote our own database to do this.

You moght consider looking into gcdb. You could find it over at sourceforge, IIRC the address is something like gcdb.sourceforge.net. Hope that helps you out.

gcdb looks pretty cool I just installed it it looks pretty complete. I currently use quickbooks pro to keep track of my clients.

Does gcdb interact with authorize.net or other CC processors ?

If you're looking for interaction I'd recommend going through 2checkout. The administrative end to our in-house system provides one-click access to the customer's order managment page on 2checkout and was very-very easy to implement.

I agree with matt, other than just keeping them in whm and a excel file 2checkout does a good job

2checkout charges 100% more than most merchant accounts........

Yes, but 2checkout also takes extra time verifying account data to minimize chargebacks. The buffer they've provided me over the past year far outweighs lowered costs we had running a merchant account.
Sincerely,
-Matt
