C'mon...you have got to be joking? That's ridiculous mate. We've passed 100 days uptime on two boxes, and would have on another had a drive not failed...which was replaced promptly.

You can't seriously write such a damning review of *anyone* if you don't have any direct experience with them yourself, surely? It's no wonder the mods get harrased for bias...their hands get forced into removing nonsense like this all too often.

it's a UN-managed server. you can't expect them to login to your box and start fixing stuff after you ****ed it up.

granted there are cases where RS gave ppl ****ty hardware, but for the most part ppl have no problems.

and yes i have a server with them. 0 problems.

a client has a xp1900 server that is having speed issues, so that is a small problem, but unless its not fixed within a week i wouldnt call it **** service

Then go with RackShack...

I only suggest one thing:
Search the forum...

oké
This is what I'm going to do:
As soon as RackShack is selling Cobalt RaQ550's, I'll order one...

Just to see it's uptime/service...

I'm pretty sure this is not going to happen..

I think they're going to offer the RaQ550 june 15th or so...

I'll use him to host just large download files of other accounts...

If I'm happy withRackShack, I'll start hosting services uing rackshacks servers.

Support ( sometimes) but wel fat support.

If you expect support on any level other than for hardware problems you don't need RackShack. Their servers are unmanged and the price reflects that. :)

referring to rackshack as "him" is pretty funny to me for some reason.

I've had a server with them for a month now:

1.Uptime ( If server or speed going sometimes slow, isnt a problem but NO DOWN TIME!!!).

Uptime seems to be good. So far both the server and network have been up 100% over the past 30 days.

2.I need be sure that they are a big company, because if they go bankrout I will be in deep ****!!( Because of my cosutomers etc...).

I think they are here to stay with 6000 servers and profitable

3. Good and fast service, when I have a problem. ( Iam not a newbie but I still know evrything in the world

There is no support for anything except hardware issues (these are unmanaged server) and even then based on what I've heard from others as I've been researching/frequenting the RackShack forums/chat it might take up to a week to diagonose hardware problems and swap the hardware/server/etc. Now most problems are probably handled better than this, but you cannot count on it yet as they have lots of customers and some still fall through the cracks on occassion and take a while to fix. Likewise with network issues.... they might take a week to pinpoint and fix a problem. But they are improving. The hardware and bandwidth you get is a fantastic value, but you have to be willing to possibly have to put in a little extra time if there is a problem - they won't hold your hand - you have to stay on it.

au contraire...

we support more than jsut the hardware... BUT the problem is, people DO expect us to fix things after they've screwed them up. I've had a few instances where people even try to cover their tracks and it just won't fly(please put that effort in trying to fix your fubar, please!)

what we DO support:

the basic software on the server. unedited(meaning the way it was put on the network OTHER THAN just adding domains and content)
Connectivity
Hardware(you must show proof of hardware failures by logs or other means)

btw. I have a compaq DL320 from RS, so i'm a customer as well... i discovered that ensim is already getting the python errors. things like this we will fix(I won't do it on my server, because it's not *my* responsibility. the server was supposed to be put online fully functional and it was not. I've submitted a trouble ticket and i expect to be treated as a customer by my peers.)

Thanks for the post RS-Charles - that's good to hear. I'm glad that RS is offering more support than I thought they would (I have been a customer for 30 days now but have only needed help with a rdns issue which took 3 weeks to fix, and this is the only time I've needed to ask tech support for anything - maybe it was just one of those weird glitches that do take a long time to fix so I'm not giving you a fair review.) Anyway, I'm glad that RS is offering more support than I thought we were entitled to in our contracts. I think this will help RackShack gain even more of the market.
