Hey everyone, I had a quick question. I was putting my ViewSonic PF790 monitor in my trunk yesterday when I was coming home from college, and the front of it got 2 'scratches' from the trunk latch. :(

When you look at them reallyyyy close, at the ends, it looks like something is pushed or compressed back, like what would happen if you took a pin to a pad of paper, when you got done scratching, the endpoint would have paper squished there. I don't know if this is because there was a strong protective layer placed over the glass and I just scratched that away or what. When the monitor is on, it looks like 2 white marks are across the screen, but anything under them is unreadable. It is very distracting.

Anyone have any ideas about possible remedies? Perhaps an automotive glass repair item? Or could I get them polished off? Or do you think there is indeed a protective layer that maybe I could get 'recoated'. Anything tips to minimize their appearence would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks for your time!

What you can do is try to polish it again ....
if that doesn't work you might try a dremel :)

Otherwise...
Buy another monitor...
