Bee 05-19-2002, 01:59 AM Is it something that runs on the server? If so, how does it work if the server itself crashed? Anyway, can you point me to a site that has the information? Thanks! wh2.net 05-19-2002, 02:09 AM Almost every paging/mobile phone company has a email->pager/sms gateway. So you can receive email notifications to your pager. Or take a look at http://internetseer.com . From their site: Where free alerts and recoveries are sent ... to your email, phone or pager, including SMS (available through your cell phone service) apollo 05-19-2002, 03:25 AM you can run your own network monitoring software, from www.bb4.com or www.netsaint.org ... :) And use e-mail to SMS gateway as people previously posted ;) NovaW 05-19-2002, 04:00 AM This company seems to perform the type of thing you are looking for http://www.alertra.com/ vibehosts 05-19-2002, 09:04 AM Thanks novaw, alertra looks real good, I think I'm going to signup volumeserver 05-19-2002, 09:41 AM you could go to beepers.com and get a pager with email capibilities they have very reasonable prices you will have an email address like YOURNUMBER@airmessage.com then setup a mail fowarder to that addrerss Max J. 05-19-2002, 11:10 AM Does alertra.com have uptime reports?? vibehosts 05-19-2002, 11:14 AM I have a verizon phone and it just goes to vibehost@vtext.com and that shoots to my phone, its real nice Max J. 05-19-2002, 11:21 AM aha, found.
