just got this email and wondering if this is a common issue and is the first email of the sort i have recieved from them.

High Risk Order Warning!!

This order failed 1 or more key fraud tests. You should scrutinize this order very closely for possible fraud. It is further recommended that this order not be fulfilled for 24 hours, to ensure that it was reviewed by the 2Checkout.com fraud department.

just wondering about it and if it failed a fraud test why would they process it anyways ?

We've had a few of them.

Fraud tests are computerized test based on certain criteria. They do not necessarily mean it is a fraud but can only point out that this CAN BE a fraud.

So you should be careful in processing the order and wait for 24 hours for 2checkout to manually check out ;)

I see one or two of those a week.

I usually give a go over of the order and IPs and everything and decide whether to turn it on or not.

Though if you're gonna get a cancelled order (one cancelled by 2checkout that is) it'll be one of those, so you might wanna wait 24 hours enabling/giving over whatever that order paid for.

So far 2checkouts "success" rate with cancelling orders is about 80% (4 of 5), 1 really was a good order.

We get those quite often with over seas customers. Usually it's a simple case of something not translating right. If in doubt, call! While you're on the phone give them a ETA on their account.

Most people are happy that you took the extra time to ensure their safety.

Ahh one question I'm glad I don't know the answer to :)

Dunno never had one (knock on wood).

A cancelled order due to too many fraud triggers being tripped is not a charge back. Refunds aren't either. I've had plenty of both (well only a couple of the first, people often make changes to their plans (upgrading) and I have to refund payments, no muss no fuss).

http://www.2checkout.com/faqs.htm#chargebacks
From their FAQ page it states:

When an issuing bank sends a chargeback dispute, the bank also charges a research fee. This fee can range from $10 to $30 depending on the bank. 2CheckOut reserves the right to pass the bank's charge back fee on to client involved, at our discretion.

well this one turned out ok was an overseas order he also signed up 3 more accounts today each of which returned the same fraud warning.

I am glad to know that 2checkout does this and also notifies the merchants of such

I think they should put the reason and what test it failed in that email as well ;)

Mine usually say why

"IP is in Malaysia, Credit Card address is Canada" etc

it is at the top of the order when suspicious ones come in.

The cancellations of orders are pretty short no info.

No, I meant the IP/location info.

This is what I get:

High Risk Order Warning!!

This order failed 1 or more key fraud tests. You should scrutinize this order very closely for possible fraud. It is further recommended that this order not be fulfilled for 24 hours, to ensure that it was reviewed by the 2Checkout.com fraud department.

But no other info like what you wrote: IP is in Malaysia, Credit Card address is Canada.

Then you might simply e-mail them. I had this problem from time to time, and each time I asked what the problem was, I got a reply.

In most cases, they were REAL fraud cases, but one I had was not. You might then call or e-mail the customer and check with the person where the problem is. If it's a frauder, I am quite sure you will not get any reply and the phone number will be wrong. Worth a try...
