Although it has a couple of glitches, users tend to love CPanel.

I can't think of any reason why a user would not want a Control Panel... we use CPanel and our users really like it.

If you don't have a control panel, then you would have to add all your clients, domains, mailboxes etc with shell.... That can be a LOT, and I do mean a LOT of hassle. Spending around 12 hours a day just adding mailboxes that your users want ;)

As said above a control panel is better, it lets your users get tasks done in real time without the need for you to intervene. We use CPanel 4. Anyway as said by AcuNett without some kind of control panel you may be sitting there for 12 hours a day adding email accounts etc. when you could be doing something more productive with your time. The licence for CPanel is $99 per month but I think if you work out how much that 12 hours work would cost you adding email accounts etc. the licence isn't to expensive.
What features besides "email management" are crucial (or most used) in control panel?
I agree you can't spend 12 hours adding mailboxes :stickout
