View Full Version : AlwaysWebHosting Vs Cyberpixels
[ANALY$T] 05-18-2002, 01:15 PM OK.Ok..I've made up my mind..narrowed down my choices to just two..
AlwayswebHosting - Gold/Platinum plan
CyberPixels - PixelExtreme
Which one would you suggest or prefer ?
Thanks,

desertdust 05-18-2002, 04:09 PM I've been using CyberPixels for 1-1/2 months now and I'm very pleased with them. I'm on the NEO-Pixel plan.
Sunny 05-18-2002, 04:13 PM Not alwayswebhosting. I just left that outfit because of faulty bandwidth monitoring. The bandwidth monitor indicated the site used 60 gb in 3 weeks, but the raw logs showed the site used less than half that amount. Ronnie said he didn't really care what the raw access logs said. We had to shut down our site for the remainder of the month. Needless to say, I went out and found a new webhost. Ronnie had been great to work with up to that point. I was frankly shocked by his lack of willingness to work with me to figure out what was going on with the bandwidth monitor.
Of the two, go with cyberpixels.
[ANALY$T] 05-18-2002, 04:28 PM Hmmn..that's really something about Ronnie and his AWH :-(
Website Rob 05-18-2002, 05:47 PM I would suggest Cyberpixels.
Any Hoster -- such as Alwayswebhosting -- offering 60GB of Data Transfer for US $9.95 month, is not one I would want to host with. For all kinds of reasons.
alina 05-19-2002, 08:33 AM i recently changed to cyberpixels and its really good and cheap. Before i asked some questions to their support on aim and they answered really fast.
Also, they can for free install scripts for you, wich is really great becuase before i could spend a loong time trying to figure greymatter out and they fixed if for me!
and, you get your account up fast to!
TheComputerGuy 05-19-2002, 08:58 AM No offense to them or such, but I used to see the CPU on one of the servers they are on called "Water" it would spike to 4.68 honest,
I used to hare a server with them, and it would get very high and apache would crash then....not a good thing....
Ronnie has always been great, but I used 89 gigs and had to move from his wonderful service. The only prob I had was Ensim...I cant stand it!
sidez 05-19-2002, 10:08 AM There was warez site, a site running CGI Ikonboard and some other issues that caused that high load.
I've been with them for a month(shortt) but never had any downtime other that the previous one because of server attacks. They've been great.
I don't know cyberpixels (CP).
I'm currently hosted at AWH, since May 7th, and I liking it a lot, specially the support. At this very beginning, I need a lot of support and Ronnie has always answered and solved my problems with no delay. I'm using around 12-13 GB transfer month.
At the price I'm paying to AWH (US$ 10 monthly), my transfer limit would be 15GB at CP, so I'd be near the limit. At AWH, I have 60GB transfer limit. Even if the bandwidth meter of AWH was measuring twice the real traffic (*hypothetically speaking* !!), I still have 30GB transfer limit, twice the amount CP gives :-)
TrishM 05-19-2002, 11:11 AM I've been with AWH since the end of March, I have 7 domains there. I've never experienced any downtime. FTP is fast as lightening. My site is fast, downloads are fast.
Ronnie is quick to answer questions and support is great.
I pay a bit extra a month ($5) to have CPanel on my accounts because I think Ensim is horrid.
Trish :D
[ANALY$T] 05-19-2002, 02:06 PM WOW...folks....Iam more confused....I guess the only way out is to try both of them :-)

Lamont 05-19-2002, 07:29 PM I've been with AWH for over 2 months now and have nothing but good things to say. No down time, fast speeds, great service. I have the $14.95 plan with 3 domains. All requests were answered promptly. They provide a great service.
[ANALY$T] 05-19-2002, 08:10 PM Yep, I signed up with them..Thanks to you all for the suggestions

[ANALY$T] 10-12-2002, 04:39 PM Well, it's been 5 great months since I've signed up for an hosting account with AlwaysWebHosting.com and just wanted to share my experiences so far - "It's simply been the BEST"; that's all I want to say.
Great work Ronnie, keep it goin.

Think Differently
tophoria 10-12-2002, 05:00 PM If you DO go to cyberpixels, which I don't recommend, you should request to be a certian server. Stay away from Torgo!!!!! [most definitely stay away from Torgo] and last I heard, Audril was having problems too.

that's cyberpixels forum if you want to check out stuff. there are quite a few complaints i will tell you now... :\
jmrasor 12-13-2002, 04:20 PM I went with them in May, and had trouble with a large Front Page site (see thread 96004). Ronnie spent a lot of time with me, but we could not make it work: server timeouts during publishing. Also, restore from Cpanel failed.
My smaller subdomain Front Page sites worked very well.
AWH seems to work very well except for a big FP site.
nic0le 12-14-2002, 10:54 AM they never even responded to my questions about the hosting packages. i always thought that the support time is usually about double the sales time... so far my support time would have been 58 days =/

Uhm, you sure it was received by AWH? If possible you may want to send your question again. We answer all sales calls usually within hours. ;)

In most cases no, it's usually the other way around.
