afaik they're cogent style, price is in the lower range.
so it's your decision if you take them as primary or not (whether choose a reliable provider or a cheap one :D )
and where did you read that they were purchased? any link? :)
btw. if i do remember it right, DV2 uses Aleron.

greets,

greets,

I'm not sure if DV2 still uses Aleron intensively now as all traceroutes are now going thru NetDepot or Cogent mostly. I hope Sailor of DV2 would share the status of their Aleron link and should also be able to give you more information about Aleron.

ahhh, i'm not using it for primary. i'm just curious as i'm looking at dedicated hosts so, i'm asking.

if you go to their website, there will be a placard with news, showing yesterday they announced being purchased.

and to add a quick edit here. their network does seem to be pretty nice. they seem to peer with level3 from what i can tell. that's a nice oc48 hopping over here to the EU.

they are fine - we still use them - but not as much - we have added above net and chnged our routing to aleron as well. but they are fine.
