Hi, I'm pretty new to this, I read through the tutorials sections but I cant figure this out.

I currently have a host with powweb and I pay them $15 an year for the domain name registration. I'm interested in getting a new domain name that will use the same package I have signed up with them right now. I see where I can sign up for additional domain names on the OPS, but I also see something about "Serviced Domains", which includes own DNS and SMTP (whatever that means) and costs another $20, or "Pointer Domains" (shared dns and email settings) which are free. I'm assuming these are for the domains after you registered?

What I don't understand is the difference between the Pointer Domains and the Serviced Domains. Is one or the other required and will I need to register through powweb to use either one? I really want something where i can have subdomains and directories with my new domain name, not like newdomain.com which only redirects to sub.olddomain.com and doesn't do anything else. Would the new domain be sharing folders and files with the olddomain name or would I get new ftp info or something like that?

pointer domain mean that it will be pointed to the main domain which you use to host your website ...
