Hello. I am in the process of creating a new script that will combine all aspects of webhosting into once easy to use control panel. So far the following will be included: Helpdesk, User Management, and Billing/Accounting management. I have alot of good features I want to include but I figured I'm going to be making this software for small/medium webhosting companies, why don't I ask them what they want. So right now I want to know some features you might want to see in this, tell me anything you want included.
-Payment Gateways
-New Features
-Integration Features
-More management panels
-Anything

I will also be looking for someone that could possibly make a few skins for this; I am good with web design but not perfect. There could be a profit in this for anyone who helps.

I will be logging all suggested Ideas and if it gets used and your interested in the software, there may be a FREE license in it for you!

So now that you know what's going on, let me hear some of those suggestions:clap:

Would help to know what you have planned already before writing out a long list of features that are already on your list.

In any event:

Control Panels:

DirectAdmin
CPanel
Plesk
Helm
HSPhere
Interworx
Free Panels (VHCS as an example, but there's other)
Ensim

Billing (small list):

PayPal
Check
Credit (as in you can credit a client's account if you want)
Stormpay
EGold
etc...

Domains (small list):

DirectI
ENom
OpenSRS

Ability to have addons is a must meaning you can allow people to add 100mb of bandwidth, 500mb, etc.. This should create a custom plan in the control panel for that user.

One click upgrades for the user would be wonderful, they should be able to upgrade their services themself and everything automated.

If you are thinking of integrating a support center into your billing software, don't. There is a massive number of support systems out there already that will most likely out-do what you have planned. Think along the lines of integrating existing support systems and getting a partner type deal with the companies providing them (I.E. Your Bill System + Cerberus bundle).

Few support desks to look at:

Auracle (http://www.AuracleSupport.com) Seaven is a great great guy, but he is also the creator of Whois.cart so bundles will most likely not go over well. As far as integration goes there's a perfect API in Auracle for extremely simple integration.

Cerberus Http://www.Cerberusweb.com
Kayako http://kayako.com/
OSTicket would be another popular choice to look into

Customers should never have to go to the domain center's control panel either. They should be able to create nameservers, update information, etc.. all from your current panel.

Auto account processing is a must.

Look into fraud screening like Verilogix and FraudCall (I think those are the names but not 100% sure on that).

Working on PHP4/MySQL without custom modification would be a very big plus for selling, but not 100% needed.

The list could go on and on, I gave you some, now give us what you have ;)

Thanks very much JADH-Mike your ideas are very well appreciated and are being recorded.

Our Ideas are being concealed at the moment for competition purposes. Im sorry about that but its just a step so that way we dont say "Hey we came out with this idea, it will be out in a week." and then our competitors come out with it 2 days before we do. We will be releasing a feature list in a few weeks though.
Again thanks very much for your ideas, I agree with most of them. Especially with the domains, and never accesing the vendors panel. The domains I agree with for the fact that almost all hosting management software have only support for one domain reseller. I think there should be support for all. And then the vendor panel just for the fact of ease of use, this is our main goal. 100%+ Functionality of your vendors panel, 0% thought required.

Is there no one else interested?
I have enough Ideas to get started but i figured everyone would be happy to put their 2 cents in.

No, you really won't find interest in a topic like this as user's here have seen it quite often ;)

I want to create _insert software here_. What do you think it should have? Most great software is wonderful because of the features we don't know we want. Visit the forums of your competition (Modernbill, Whois.cart, LPanel, ClientExec, etc...) and view what they have and what their users really want.
