View Full Version : (IP).reverse.layeredtech.com?
jerjo 04-13-2006, 03:49 AM Hello.
Anybody knows of a decent host that uses [IP].reverse.layeredtech.com as reverse DNS for their resellers' accounts?
Please advise.
Best regards.
RackFleet 04-13-2006, 03:54 AM Hello,
Maybe a site such as http://www.dnsstuff.com/ would help you find out what you need :-D
Hope this helps.

Anyone hosting at LayeredTech's facility should be able to give you what you need - might want to check out knownhost.com, they've been very decent for me (on a VPS account though).

Why do you want this?

I found out that such hosts' resellers are "somewhat" hard to trace back to the mother hosting company.

Any host with a reverse DNS entry with a private domain will be impossible to trace back, for the most part.
It is ludicrious to just look for hosts that are using LT.

Dear Elix,
I didn't find the word "ludicrious" in my dictionary :)
I agree with what you said in the first part of your comment though. Let me rephrase my question: Do you know any reliable hosting service that use LT?
Thanks.

Maybe you need a better dictionary then - http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=ludicrous

No, you DON'T understand.
Why LT?????

As you might have noticed, there was an extra I after the R, that's why I didn't find the word in the dictionary. The word is new to me! WHT is a great place to learn... even language :)
Elix, I just want to know some reliable hosts who have their servers at Layered Technology data center. That's all. I hope I made myself clear.
GigabitONE 04-14-2006, 03:54 AM ok ... simple point :) but some host using layeredtech does mean that their will point the reserve dns using that way.
camers 04-15-2006, 01:47 AM I would be weary to go with hosts that don't change their reverse entries..
CyberHostPro 04-15-2006, 03:40 AM reverse DNS i have seen some hosts charge for which I personally think is not fair. Anyone who has there own dedicated IPs should have the ability to have RDNS for their IPs :)
webair-gene 04-15-2006, 08:59 AM Why not ask the host to rdns the ip they give you to your domain, then it will just trace back to you, we've done this before and it's the same thing as having ip.layeredtech.com, it's probably better for you if you have ip.yourdomain.com (that's of course if your host gives you a dedicated ip)
