So, I decided to install phProxy on a domain and do a few customizations to it.
I checked my logs for April, and I've gotten over 16000 visits.
Now, over 10000 of the visits are direct requests, it's a PR3, and the site is only a few months old.
Is the fact that it's a proxy site bugging up the statistics, or did I just have a stroke of luck?

Where is the traffic coming from?

Mostly direct requests. A handful is from Google, and the rest is negligible.

I have a proxy site running. Had a ton of traffic from Iran, then it just dropped one day. I confirmed it with a fellow WHT member from Iran that it had been blocked. Its good you are getting a lot of traffic. Are you running ads?

How'd you tell it was from Iran?
No ads yet, just signed up for Google AdSense after I gawked at the stats :)

cPanel in the Web / FTP Stats -> Latest Visitors
I came to this conclusion: 90% from Iran, 8% MySpace (must be people killing time at work or school), 2% Mac and Ipod geeks =D
I just checked a few times a week when traffic got to about 2-4 GB a day.

Ohhh, I never actually looked at the pie charts on the bottom :)
I've got <2% from Iran. 80% are unknown.

Is this on a dedicated server or a shared account? Have you noticed how much resources the scripts eats up? I Was thinking of seting up a proxy site as I found a few pretty cool domains that suprisingly havent been taken yet.
Thanks

I have two proxy sites on one server that seem to be doing ok. The first one I setup has started off real fast as well and was making about $3 a day before I gave it to my brother a few days ago. I have just setup a second one yesterday and have yet to see how it turns out. I have purchased a paid link on proxy.org just a little bit ago so maybe this one will turn out better.
Now I have to setup awstats for this domain so I can track things a little better. Currently only has webalizer installed which I dont really like.

I have a proxy site which i've now owned for a month or so and only 2 days ago reliased it wasn't working in IE! That was annoying as it was getting 500 uniques before i bought it, then just 100 or so after, but now its starting to rise.. :) Most of my traffic comes from america, over 75% i think.

Evolver, it has torn through about four gigs of bandwidth, but I haven't had any complains about resource usage.
