Dear all,

Having read so much about reselling web hosting and registeration of domain names...
It has certainly got me going.
Being a newbie, I was wondering if anyone could provide me with information on

- Reselling Domain Registrations
After signing up for a reseller account with say Stargate or GoDaddy, how can I register domain names for my new customers ?
I mean... what should I put for nameservers, MX record, CNAME etc ..
Is there any resource that someone can point me to ? Thank you.

Best Regards,

Where do I start?? :D

You are not going to do anything but set up DNS (name servers) you can't control MX or Cname from the domain level that is done on the DSN server where the hosting is set up.

To answer your question how to buy the domains for your customers??Just like you would for yourself but put their name as the registered owner, if not you will wind up getting sued if you put yours since they would be paying for it I would assume.

You need to get with a good reseller program andjust set up your site to sell hosting, take the orders turn around and set up the orders in your reseller site and let them handle the hard parts.

Once you get rollign and Really understand DNS you can go more on your own.. You will more than likely always resell domains since it costs to much to run your own true domain service. You need to know a bit about servers before jumping into one on your own.

Hope that help.

True!

Method 1:
Chose a hosting company that offer full package. Meaning that you just click a mouse after giving domain for your client to the hosting company. They will know how to do the rest, actually they will then purchase domains in bulk from some registrar and then do the name server thing for you.

Method 2:
Chose a compnay that offer [virtual] private server so that you have your own name server says

ns1.yourserver.com xx.xx.xx.xx (where xx.xx.xx.xx is the IP address)
and ns1.yourserver.com

after that, each time your got a new order. Just go ahead, purchase the domain and most of the time fill in a form and click to change name servers of that new domain to yours.

Good luck!
