Dear all,
Having read so much about reselling web hosting and registeration of domain names... It has certainly got me going.
Being a newbie, I was wondering if anyone could provide me with information on
- Reselling Web Hosting
After signing up for a reseller account with say NetaCore or OneFusion, how can I in turn setup web accounts for my new customers ?
I understand that there is a program called "CPanel" and this offers a certain level of control of the web accounts but how do I configure it such that http://www.clientdomain.com would be routed to the correct web host account and pull off the right index.htm etc...
This might be a very simple question but I can't seem to find any information on it. Could someone please point me in the right direction, please. Thank you.
Best Regards,

1. Signup with a reseller account.
2. Register your private nameservers (ns1 and ns2.yourdomain.com). These are the nameservers that your clients will be using.
3. Wait 24-48 hours until your nameservers are propagated.
4. Set-up your clients' accounts through WebHostManager (WHM) as 'clientdomain.com' and ask the client to transfer the domain to the nameservers registred in step 2.
5. Wait 24-48 hours for the domain to be propagated to your server.
6. Thats it!
Hope this helps :)

First you find a Host that you would like to host with and make sure they are vert good to nebies...
Then when they set you up with an account they will give you IPS to add to your name servers this is the easy part and they can help you at any time of the process ( Well they better )
Next you get to login to a Web Host Manager that comes with cpanel, you can create account at the push of a button by adding domain(s), space, bandwidth emails etc etc...
if you have any problems with your web host manager you can use your support and ask the questions...
Kind regards and good luck,

The most important thing is to chose your reseller provider wisely, send them an e-mail to see how quick they respond, ask about what kind of backups they have the last thing you want is your business to be ruinied because they lose your sites. Do a search on them to see if theres any recent complains about their support or uptime.

Run fast.
Run hard.
Run and don't look back.
You will not have a life if you begin hosting.
Well, you'll have a life, but nothing social. :bawling:
:pimp: Not much to add to what the others have said. Just wanted to give you another side.

I don't have a social life anyway, so what a perfect career for me! :D
Anyway, not to discourage you or anything, but if you don't have a clue about how hosting works, then why bother getting into the hosting business? I recommend that you take some time to learn how things work before getting started, even if you're just going to be a reseller because what if a client asks you a question and you have absolutely no idea what they're talking about? You'll need to know much more than just how to use the control panel.

I agree with toastyx.
You will have to support your clients and answer their questions. This is one of the
most important parts of web hosting. It is not just setting up an account and thinking
the money will roll in.......it won't! It takes time , commitment and patience. Patience,
when you start out and still have to build your presence on the web ( listing of your
site, marketing, advertising ) and patience with your clients.
Although a good provider will assist you and give you the support you need. It is
your responsibility to support your clients, not your provider.
