We talk about the things we don't like here quite often. I wanted to start this thread just to talk about the things we do like about WHT. Why do we come here?

I will start with just a couple of things.

I learn. Yes, there is a lot of "garbage", but there is a lot of good information. I have picked up information on software, on domain registrars, on colo centers, on security, and too much more to even remember.

I have met some great people here, many of whom I do business with. I've made over 50 purchases from designers getting started here, purchased domains, purchased clients and companies. And of those purchases the satisfactory ones outnumber the disappointments 50 to 1.

I enjoy it here. This is my relaxation...except when someone gets me riled up. Its just a place I like to visit, a place I feel comfortable sharing with others who have similar interests.

Well I come here because im not in the business. I have learned quite a bit about servers, bandwidth, what makes a good host and what makes a bad host.

I have learned what to look out for and to read between the lines. Something that may look like a good deal just may not be and it takes the pro's to point that out.

I may need to move to a new host in the future if my forum(God willing) gets bigger, and this will be the first place I come to for advice, and possably a new host.

Not to mention we get some silly posts going here from time to time..which is good.

hmmm . . . . . that wasn't too positive; was it? I'll try again.

I try to read everything here. Still trying to figure out exactly why.

I know that every day I stop here and read.

And every day I stop here and laugh.

Although I may miss a day of "every day" here and there. I like this place. It's been a fun ride. :scatter:

I don't have much free time but almost everyday I come here twice in the morning and in the evening, read new posts and answer them if I can. I feel that this place I can relax after hard works. I like the way people sharing their knowledge in this forum. From here I know why WHT's members hate the word "unlimited", ***** and Netsol. What I read here is quite useful for me, I learn a lots from other web hosts. And sometimes, it helps saving me a lot of time searching on the Internet to find some specific information which I can ask here. Just my opinions, hope you feel the same.

I come here, because there's nothing like a good argument to start my day! (sorry, I couldn't resist).

Seriously, I've noticed that Incognito is always willing to jump in and help someone with a question.

Personally, not only have I learned a great deal from everyone here, but I've been spared so much grief by being able to avoid those providers who, shall we say, have earned bad reputations here on WHT.

Along the way I think I've helped a few people and enjoyed lots of laughs. ;)

So to sum it up, it's the people that make WHT what it is and that keeps me coming back, and back, and back...

I'm not in the business either but enjoy having conversations with those who share some of the same interests. I have several 'personal interest' websites and have loved computers since my first little Timex/Sinclair thingy years ago.

I have gained a lot of insight into networking and how the internet works from this site. Others have always been helpful with questions I have asked.

very well put :)
this place is great. helps in a lot of ways. you learn, you keep up to date, swap opinions, have a laugh (mostly at apple lately). as for the business side. its been very useful in gaining insights into the industry.

I come here to associate with many of the great people in our industry...yes, I know there are the not-so-great here too...but I refuse to let them ruin my enjoyment. They shall not rain on my parade.

Probably no place on the web can you gather with so many who have built their businesses through their own hard work and by providing an exceptional level of service to their customers.

I see the free advice given here by true experts (yes, I use to say free advice was worth exactly what you pay for it). But, it is given out of a true desire to help others and out of common decency.
