I'm searching for a Registrar that don't sign whois data results with his name or website url.

I'm a reseller so i do not want my customers know where i'm buying domains fro them.

Actually i'm with namecheap (enom reseller) and they unfortunally put their url in the whois :

Registration Service Provided By: NameCheap.com
Contact: support@NameCheap.com
Visit: http://www.namecheap.com/

PS: i don't want to buy extra service like WhoisGuard for this.

thanx in advance

I’m afraid you’re not going to get this, unless you become your own register from ICANN, then your own company name will be there :) -- The downside, is that its way too much money for most people. -- So whenever you register a domain name, it will always list the whois server, and the place where its registered, there is no stop in that :P

ok, but enom's resellers (like namecheap) have they company name in whois

You could become an eNom reseller / subreseller yourself and put in your own name, where it now says 'NameCheap'?

I do not get your point... Do you really want to save a few dollars per year to purchase a proxy registration?

Sorry, I don't see any way around it. Registrars have to at least give a hint where
the domain name is really "registered" with.

The "Registrar" will always show no matter who one goes one.

To get around the dilemma posted by the TS, one needs to become the Reseller.
Then you can put in whatever you want, such as what NameCheap is doing.

Have you tried just becoming an enom reseller? This is what namecheap is. I think you can have your info placed in the whois instead of theirs.

Same with DirectI - you can customise whois output to tell everybody the domain was registered through your company. This working with com/net only though...

With DirectI/Resellerclub you can fully customize the whois output, i've translated to my language all texts, put my own advertising and more.

Look at the whois results for generalcelebrities.com (http://registration.premierwebsitesolutions.com/cgi-bin/whois.cgi?choice=generalcelebrities&tld=.com&showdetail=y&submit=+Check+the+Name+) to see how it works if you're an Enom reseller.

I looked the whois results at http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp. I am not impressed!

That's good. ;) It's the current version of my first personal website. Started off as a freebie at xoom.com almost exactly 7 years ago.

I just put that there to show how it says "Registration Service Provided By: Premier Website Solutions " as opposed to Namecheap.

With an Enom reseller account, the reseller can put their business name in the whois like that, but it also still shows that Enom is the registrar. The only way to not show another company as the registrar is to be the registrar.

i've notice also that different whois server show different data output .. for the same domain someone show for example ENOM registrar and other show Namecheap.

Try whois.crsnic.net and whois.internic.net

That's because my site was at xoom.com/something/ 7 years ago, then I changed it to beautifulcelebrities.net, then in Aug, 2002 I changed it to generalcelebrities.com. Now it's being changed to famousfaces.ws, whenever I get some free time.

why no one mentions ::

http://domainhelp.tucows.com/

i have no idea:wavey:

what about VPS and the IP addresses you get on those, who are they registered to?

also - does WHOISguard show up just like the generalcelebrities.com lookup or is it lame where they just add in their info for Reg/Tech/Admin ?

Hi Guys,

I think Onlinenic has something you wanted. It shows the name of the reseller at bottom of Whois records. But they also mention their name.
