As I research managed dedicated servers, I am seeing that many are using Linux 7.1 while some are using Linux 7.2. Is 7.2 a big advantage?

RedHat Linux 7.3 would probably be the best option now :)

uhm..

there is no linux 7.1
or 7.2
sorry

i think you are confused, you might be mixing up redhat 7.1 and redhat 7.3 or 7.2 with linux *.*

linux comes in different distrbutions, such as redhat.

redhat has versions such as 7.1, 7.2 7.3
etc

You are right. I was asking about RedHat Linux 7.1 versus RedHat Linux 7.2. I guess the real question is does 7.2 make a big difference. Should I go for it even if it is sometimes a little more expensive?

The reason a lot of them come with 7.1 is because a lot are running Ensim version 3.0 which only supports 7.1 , a new version of Ensim 3.1 is coming out soon which is supposed to support 7.2.

Besides update packages, the only advantage of 7.2 over 7.1 is that it comes default with ext3 journaling file system.

Ensim LS 3.1 was supposed to be out in April. It's now gone half May and I'm still waiting for that update they promised...

Sometimes I regret not going for Plesk, certainly if anounced updates still aren't available a month after they were supposed to be released...

Ensim never promised 3.1 in April. It has always been late May / early June. I believe mid June is when it is set for public release.

You are probably confusing WP for Windows.

Also, Plesk users will tell that Plesk is far worse for release dates. It took forever (over a year from the original posted release date) of the latest full release. Also, Plesk PSA+ or Enterprise Manager (whatever it is called), was also to be released last year too. That was posted all over their web site. The point being, release dates are never on time. Especially for new CPs. Most of those turn out to be vaporware.
