on a pc platform a good selling game sells in the thousands... (10,000?)

on a console a good game sells more (100,000?)

millions? Probably not....

but anyways, what did you mean with voxels? As in volume rendering? :D

dhabets,
Good pc games sell thousans or sometimes millions as well as console games. MOre people in the world play games on pc then on xbox or stuff like that.

BTW voxels are how they make graphics for games. Like cars and stuff. Thats all made in voxels! Its not .gif images. LOL

Voxels are Volume based Pixels (AKA Volume Elements), their first debut in PC gaming was Commanche, Maximum Overkill.

They are generally used for Terrain and such. Cars are made out of polygons and lots of triangles.

Are rare to find in game engines because they do not benifit from 3D hardware acceleration. You'll also have a hard time finding a programmer proficient in them because they are hardly used. It would be much easier to do it in Direct3D because its easier to find programmers at a lower payrate that can do it and the amount of documentation out there to program it is much greater.

If you know C++ doesn't mean you can program games.

Ok, would you make a game with html then? If OS is made by C++ then everything can be made with C++!

BTW how do you make triangles and polygons stuff that they use like in Need for speed game and stuff like that? Which program is used for that?

Not quite true... more people pay for console games than for pc-based games... piracy is much higher on pc-based platforms... just my 2 cents...

I work in medical imaging research... I live for volume rendering, however it's not really suitable for games (if you want good quality) because it's quite computationally intensive...
